Damn, 2 TE sticks? I couldn’t even afford one. I’m going with the regular Fight Stick. Hopefully it’ll come out a couple days before SFIV so I can get a feel to it.

Thanks to Markman and everyone at Madcatz for this great product too.

Oh and one question, the fight stick should be just as easy to mod as its TE counterpart, correct?

Question for MarkMan, if we pre-order at a local Gamestop and put the $50.00 deposit down, are we GUARANTEED to receive one the day it comes out, or is there potential for delay for second/third shipments? Do Gamestop only take pre-orders to meet stock the day it’s released, or do they take pre-orders and then send the memo to you guys notifying the amount of sticks to send?

Why’d you order from gamestop? Get your money back and preorder from gamecrazy ASAP.

why, whats the benefit ?

Does anyone know how good it is? I’m worried about spending money that will be wasted because buttons/stick crap out after a few months of play. I’m expecting a stick to last at least two years before problems emerge…

I did order a AIAB True Arcade Custom, but I want a second stick for friends who come over.

Hey guys,
I’ve frequently visited the forums but with SFIV and the TE-sticks coming shortly, I finally decided to join up to express my gratitude to Madcatz for stepping up their game and the fighting game community for providing the inspiration needed to develop quality games and products.

MarkMan regardless of the skepticism, you guys really succeeded in bringing out a top notch product. Just wanted to say thanks for an awesome job.

Hopefully we can see a writing piece on the sticks from you sometime in the near future =P

wheres the link for gamecrazy??

Also put my order in now to (US) Gamestop. The shipping to Canada is reasonable, but I’m scared they’re going to make me pay duty. If it’s something like $30 per stick for duty, I’ll live with it. Hopefully the duty isn’t the cost of the stick itself or some nonsense.

Infil, on top of the $149.99 tag, you pay for currency exchange, shipping, duty, GST, PST, conversion, brokerage and disbursement.

It will add up to slightly less than $300 dollars.

GameStop uses UPS BTW, so prepare to get raped.

TE Stick Art

MarkMan, these are looking great!

For those of you asking about the Artwork check this video:
http://www.destructoid.com/ces-2009-street-fighter-iv-mad-catz-controller-cracked-open-117539.phtml

In it, Seth Killian opens up a TE Stick and you can see the graphic is removable.

Also, MarkMan said this earlier about the graphic:

If that $300 tag is accurate then Canadians can save almost half of that amount getting a regular fightstick from ebgames (they ARE getting the regulars right?) and ordering parts from LL. Everyone is saying the reg is easy to mod so unless you really need the extra space to rest your hands I don’t see why not take the regular stick option.

Oh snap! UPS about to run ya wallet son! After paying GameStop/EB Games in the US, when it actually gets delivered, you’re going to have to pay a mean brokerage fee. Might be like $50+ and that’s after paying GST and customs duties.

I cancelled my GameStop/EB Games order for the FSTE from the US and pre-ordered one from Lizard Lick before they filled their pre-order slots.

Heres something that might suck. In this article, http://kotaku.com/5128370/ces-09-hands-on-with-mad-catzs-sfiv-fightstick--fightpad, the regular fightstick is shown and the headphone jack looks like it wont fit the original headset. If that;s true than that is an absolutely god awful decision, but it doesn’t affect me unless the TE is the same way.

So Markman, for 150 dollars, will the TE stick fit the older style of headset with the plastic piece?

Aw man, I have an order on GameStop and waiting for someone to bail out of LL pre orders so I can take his place…Is there a kind soul that would just buy from GS since its accessible to them anyway?

GS ships USPS within US and UPS for international…
Please I know I’m already getting raped… *sigh

ANYONE :annoy:

@headset
im pretty sure it will not… bad dessicion for me too but would make no sense since its not a TE only feature that wwouldednd make sense so its the same…

Maybe they are going to include the little connector thing like the one that comes with rockband? If not I think I saw them at EB before so you should be able to get something that will work with it.

for an extra 70 dollars they should be able to attach a little connector piece.

First post and I wish Madcatz luck.

Hello. This is my first post on Shoryuken fourm, and I want to say that I’m very excited about these stick.

I’ve been playing fighting games for a while now, although neve on a truly competitive level. Then I bought a Xbox360. After realizing just how poor the d-pad was on 360 and realizing how much I play fighters on my PC, I decided to start taking fighters seriously and find an arcade stick for a more arcade-authentic experience. I had my eyes set a Hori EX2 for a couple months for it’s cheap price. Just about last week, I even actually placed a bid for one, but lost.

However, just when I was about to buy a Hori EX2, I heard about the Street Fighter Tournament Edition Fightstick here. I initially balked at the (seemingly) expensive price point, but after seeing the pics and doing some extensive reasearch on sticks, and hearing testimonials on this stick, I simply couldn’t resist, despite not knowing all the details of the stick. I preordered a TE stick at my nearest Gamestop just last week, and now that I know all the details of the stick, I can safely say that it was $150 well spent.

I express great thanks for Markman and the rest of the Madcatz and Capcom team for introducing me to the scene and wish them all luck. February can’t come soon enough.

See, here’s how I figure it. According to that site I was just listed, buying two 360 TE sticks and getting them shipped by Gamespot to me is going to cost me barely over $500 CDN total (ie, just about $250 CDN per stick).

Lizard Lick was going to offer the stick for about $35 shipping US (per stick). So that would be about $185 US, and with the conversion rate that would probably be about $220 CDN or so. So it’s going to cost me about $30 extra per stick to order through Gamespot, if I get both sticks shipped together (I haven’t done the math if you’re just ordering one stick). Considering that I may not get a stick at ALL, I’m okay with $30-ish extra overtop of what LL would have shipped it to me at (and who knows, maybe the LL shipment would have cost me duties too).

With that said, I still put my name on the LL wait list, so I’ll make my decision closer to the date, once my options are clear. But ordering two sticks in the same shipment looks like it won’t be too much over and above ordering it from a place like LizardLick… assuming thefinalcost.com has an accurate estimate of the cost.

EDIT - Looks like it’ll cost about $285 CDN if you’re ordering a single stick, so it’d be about $60 over and above what LL could offer you. I’m actually ordering two 360 sticks and one PS3 stick for myself + two friends without credit cards, but they’re making me ship them in separate boxes, which is absolutely retarded. So the PS3 stick is going to cost my friend more than what I’ll pay, since I’m shipping it with another box.

The other option I have is getting them shipped to a friend’s US address, and then having him ship them up to me via some other means. This also means I get the stick later (a week, two weeks, who knows), plus I have to hassle my friend to ship some pretty big cargo, and maybe I still won’t be able to avoid any duties. I guess paying the slightly higher fee is worth it to avoid these hassles. That said, though, I’m still hoping those from the US who have options to order locally will do so, and let us international people order from LL so we don’t get totally screwed. C’mon guys, help us out. :lovin:
