Technically he took Cammy to top 4! All the way through the winners bracket!

Rog could dizzy fools in HF like there’s no tomorrow. You ate a punch? Almost there! Shotos, Guile and Rog has relatively easy CPS-1 chain combos on a dizzied opponent which would often kill. For example: jp.rh, cr.short xx st.fierce. xx hadouken. Shotos sucked in WW, but would they get a dizzy, a simple rh-fierce-hahouken would redizzy half the time.

I guess what Rufus means is the redizzy combos in ST often require a series of links and a few one frame BS such as moves going the wrong way after a cross-up but still hitting the enemy, then linked to the rest of the combo. That is, not practical or at least not dependable. In HF/CE, CPS-1 chains made a bunch of them viable.

Devastation was truly a fun weekend. I wish a few more AZ HDR players showed…

Everything at the tourney was top-notch and professional. Shoutouts to the usual fellas…SweetJV, EA, Mongolo, Synco, Moocus, the AZ crew (Sabre, Tristan aka the newest addition to the HDR Family, Abe, etc), Fillipino Champ (cool chattin’ w/ya), and definitely OG Pete Talleyhawk! Pete, I can’t believe that we missed each other on campus by months…you got to watch Shareef play ball, we got to watch, errr…Geno Carlisle?!! Who?! Exactly, haha. I wish everyone on the HDR & ST boards had the opportunity to hear your ā€œWhat Sirlin should really say to the haters.ā€ Lmao, that was the funniest 10 second rant I’ve heard in years. Good luck w/the job hunt, and keep reppin’ God’s stick ,’ )

Yep… nice job by Mango Robokop… lol… Seriously, hearing he took Cammy through winners… that makes me feel really good… like it warms my heart good

Out of curiosity…

How did HDR numbers stack up against the rest of the fighting games there (Excluding SSF4)?

I’ll second that. That shit was hilarious! I wish I recorded it because text simply can’t do it justice. It has to be said with the NY accent in full effect.

Second only to Abe’s friend Matt playing DG. Matt was playing Guile and DG is clearly winning… He gets down to his final bit of life leans all the way in to DG on the floor, waits till he looks him in the eyes and says ā€œFUUUUUUCCCCCKKKK YOOOOUUUUU!! I cant beat him, he’s too good!ā€ The whole room of 10+ people erupted in laughter.

Good times! Good to see all you guys. Now on to EVO!

Speaking of EVO. You better sign up Vintage. You’re playing this year if I have to drag your ass to your matches!

There were 19 I think. But that’s because it was run on Friday I’m sure. 3s only got 6 people and it was run on Friday too…

damn i think i missed that quote!!! i wish i heard it. it was either after i left to go visit friends in north phoenix (which was a huge mistake. total snooze fest) or when i was playing on the other setup.

co-sign on vintage participating…

i don’t know how to use stick*

        - vintage

*true story

haha vintage is always saying that, while whooping most good peoples a$s in the process

Mmm God’s Stick

Pete Talley is just another loud mouthed, know-it-all NYer! He makes outrageous claims like, ā€œYou wish your stick had this much girth!ā€, and ā€œIf you want to call yourself an evil genius, try not to look like this guy!ā€

I’ll see you guys at the craps pit in Aria, then I’ll walk over to Caesar’s and kick some ass in SF. It was good to play the CA crew even if Pete Talley wouldn’t shut up during casuals or tournament matches for that matter.

Silver, Cammy is all good until someone with an uppercut breaks her frail arms, legs, head, neck and back.

I had this post in the Devastation results thread, but no one reads a results thread with no results.

Hey, I just got HD Remix today and I started out with Guile.

I’ve been playing SF4 for almost a year now, it’s my first 2D fighter, and I’m just having a bit of a hard time adjusting to what’s going on.

I would really enjoy to play someone that knows what theyre doing, like Sabre, DSP, etc. just so I can get a real taste of what to expect at high level. Anyone will do though, I need all the practice that I can get!

Okay… first of all… we need to redefine your definition of what top level HDR looks like… DSP isn’t bad but I’m pretty sure he hasn’t actually played HDR since… a year ago. And I think Sabre is pretty new to HDR… if you’re interested in playing really good competition I suggest the WW… oh you’re on PSN… Well, I’m sure if you hit the match making thread for PSN I’m sure you’ll find some great people to play with.

Oh and welcome to a real game for real men… where one mistake can cost you a match, where zoning, footsies, and fundamentals matter, where a 3 hit combo can do 50% life… welcome good sir. Welcome.

Lol, I actually just noticed I never added my xbox gt, so we could play

I keep up with what’s going on in Street Fighter and it just seemed necessary to pick this game up. I think it will make my SSF4 game much better.

I’ll send you a friend request and hopefully we can play, and if you have a mic, please use it :stuck_out_tongue:

And I’m going to go ahead and admit that it took me about 15 minutes to beat Ryu on arcade on medium difficulty. This game is difficult.

Fighting the arcade Ryu is not realistic. For instance, he can fireball you 4 times for a 4-hit combo (non-Super). That’s pretty much humanly impossible.

For PSN folks, you want to add most people in this thread: http://shoryuken.com/f238/ssf2hd-remix-good-games-thread-168651/index173.html
There are 1 or 2 trolls, but you can tell who they are.

You have a local near you by the name of MisterEgoTrip, he’s one of our top honda’s on PSN. You might want to hit him up.

Do you know of anyone on xbox live? That’s what I have it for.

I’m playin my buddy aftermidnight(chun) i think hes top 200

ummmm… just about everyone on this part of the forum plays this on xbl… but alot of them are out of your reach as far as skill level(but they can teach you quite a few things though)… the game is easy enough to pick up and hard to master… just what character do you want to learn… other than T.Hawk, Gief, and Blanka, I can at least help to start you off with this game…

Well, right now the only character I’ve touched is Guile. I’m really surprising myself because I’m alraedy doing anti air supers and putting on some good pressure. If you’re on right now you should mesg me and we can play. So far I’m just having a hard time with the throw system, air priority, and thats about it so far.

Well Guile is a good strong character in HDR. You’ll find that Flash Kick is WAAAAAYY better in HDR than it is in SF4. Sonic Boom charge isn’t quite as fast comparatively to Guile in Super 4 but better than Vanilla 4, learn Guile’s normals inside and out, his toward roundhouse is an overhead in HDR.

The throw system in the SF2 engine works like this… if I’m in range and I press a direction and a throw button, I throw, if we press it at the same time, its 50 / 50 who gets the throw. Tick throws are more effective in SF2 because of the speed of the game and the fact that there’s no special throw input, but each character only has so many viable throw buttons. Cammy has 4 throw buttons, but Ryu only has 2 (at least I think he can only throw on fierce and roundhouse…) so it’ll take some getting used to.

If you’re confused on anything in the air, turn on training mode and turn on hitboxes… oh yeah, HDR training mode actually lets you see the hitboxes… its nice that way. Resend me a friend request on XBL also… I didn’t recognize who you were and deleted the request, my bad on that man… next time I’m in Jacksonville, visiting my mom, we’ll get some games in.

Just picked this up and wow, never goin’ back to 4 ever again. I’ll play it with buddies off-line, but still.

XBL: landofthelols if you wanna play against a scrub-tastic DeeJay in the mornings.
