I understand that Sagat was changed so that he is more interesting but he does sound like a complete monster now.
I’m looking forward to picking up a grappler for the first time, only wish Thawk was made more interesting though he sounds harder but still boring to play against.

Fei was so much fun to play in HD:R - I think he’s gonna be great. With the limited amount of play time I had I didn’t get to do much, but I got about 20 games in with him and I loved him. I’m going to finally learn a second character in ST once this game comes out.
I was predicting this ever since VF5 went to 360, but it was still a lot to take in. Also, notice the presence of an XBL Gamertag under my name and the lack of a PSN one.

yeah I don’t think the longer range rekka ken is gonna help, cause he’s gonna eat his fireballs along the way anyway. Fei needs an anti-air that can rival the shotos.
Longer dragon kick recovery is seriously gonna make him a sitting duck.
and like you said, a short chicken wing that can get by fireballs is not that safe if the recovery isn’t decent enough. I think they probably spent more type trying to rebalance Honda than really looking into Fei Long’s final build, they said there were many versions of Fei Long and one version made him the best in the game,
but I think that point is where they slipped at how much he should be nerfed. but I dunno, maybe his dragon kick is like Cammy’s it’s safe at a certain blocking distance. cause if Fei always gets spd after Zangief blocks it, then we might have to chip away with rekka kens.

i can’t see Honda owning Blanka anymore.
Normally i find Nohoho’s 7:3 valuation of the match-up pretty accurate with jab headbutt owning most advances and fierce headbutt shutting down jumps from mid to 3/4 screen away. Jumping and standing short are good but not good enough. Blocked blanka balls are headbutted on block.
Now that rolls are safe on block you can throw them out more. If you can jump over a reversal headbutt after a blocked ball this match will be great, but i doubt the recovery on the ball will be that good. Jab roll looking like a fierce one will allow you to whiff bite honda looking to block a fierce roll. And you might even hop over far honda roundhouse if you dash in. I think rainbow roll will be headbutted on reaction so i don’t think that will be a factor.

Why would anyone do a headbutt after a blocked ball, if a blocked ball is safe on block? In other words, if reversal headbutt doesnt connect after a blocked ball, it will no longer be a vialble option. So why do it? And cant Honda just do slaps to stop balls still. Balls my be safe on block, but they are still punishable by jabs and what not. So why block? Just jab the balls.
I still dont see how balls being safe on block make them a viable option to just throw them out there, when they can still be punished quite easily. The only option safe on block balls allows now is to add them to the end of block strings.

Just for block damage if blanka doesn’t have enough time to jump. What is blanka going to do?
Obviously anything thrown out brainlessly isn’t a good idea. Lets see anyone consistantly jab a fierce blanka ball from half a screen away. With footsies, standing shorts etc you’ll be flinching on jab at the wrong time just like everyone else. You’ll eat it the ball or block it, and even if you hit him out 50% of the time it’s a positive damage ratio in blankas favor.
For block damage? then why not do moving slapping hands, it does better damage.
From half a screen away the only options blanka has to attack are the fierce and roundhouse versions of the rolls. People tend not to do them from this distance because the get punished easily because its expected. Footies from half a screen away with Honda? How do you do that? This aint third strike where whiffing normals builds meter. Maybe I am misunderstanding what your saying.
