Slayerslice: 7/3 vs Steve and even vs Sagat? Really? I don’t think Kaz really works Steve THAT hard nor do I think Kaz has any tool that allows him to stand on even ground with Sagat. Plz explain ur logic.

King D: Where does hwos advantage on ogre come from? Does he have better buttons. Kinda envisoned that match as even.

Kazuya blows up Steve’s frametraps with EWGF, as Steve doesn’t have a low to make Kazuya be scared of. Kazuya can do midscreen EWGF and Steve wouldn’t be able to punish him without super, and if he did come in with f. lp, f. mp, he would still be launched in that sense.

Kazuya has light tatsu that moves him forward and builds meter to avoid low fireballs, Kazuya has a safejump that beats all of Sagat’s options bar 3frame super.
Kazuya still has a St. hp to rival Sagat’s pokes, and make him bleed for half life and still have a setup after to kill Sagat in 1 combo, since TU tag isn’t safe against Kaz, EWGF blows up Sagat and partner. Kazuya has by far better movement, tiger knee setups on block can be backdashed and punished because Kazuya has the best backdash in the game, in terms of recovery. Sagat has to keep Kazuya further then midscreen, because Kazuya simply deals more damage then Sagat does.

Even in midscreen Sagat has to be wary of Kazuya, since his EX devastator can catch 1 fireball and punish Sagat for over 50% if tagged in with a appropiate partner.

How are you hitting Sagat with ex devastator from mid range? How would it reach? And if you are that close that it can reach how are you even reacting to an actual shot? I call BS good sir.

Check Devastators range, you will be surprised, Sagat also extends himself to be hit.
In SF4 it’s not unheard of that a tiger shot would be super’d/Ultra’d by Ryu, why would this be any different.

Sagat/Kazuya isn’t in Kazuya’s favor but it’s no worse than 6/4 Sagat. EWGF (Kazuya in general) blows up many characters but only when you get in; a decent Sagat player will make you pay to get in.

We gotta get more games in EL btw; haven’t played you in a bit :smiley:

lm EWGF is pretty cheap too (gotta start using that a lot more).

ur right. But i def dont think u have time to react to the tiger shot itself. You could react to sagats sudden movement and hope its a shot but thats a guess. btw does the safe jump beat all non 3 frame reversals cuz gats lp tu is 4 frames.

Fighting game players really need to get out of the mindset of feeling entitled to a large advantage over a player they’ve just knocked down. You’ve just landed a combo for up to near half life and you feel like you still deserve to be in an advantageous position?? Makes no sense and I can’t think of other games which follow similar logic.

Word. Not sweatin that too much thnx to rolls and Gat sweats meter all day but thats good shit for Kaz.

I need to hit the lab again and look at how their buttons interact. Fairly confident that Gats buttons usually beat Kaz’s but Kaz has riskvreward on his side plus walk speed. I know TK blows kaz up at mid range like most chars though.

I meant more other genres of game. FGs seem to go against the grain quite a lot when it comes to this sort of thing. I guess some people just crave the excitement of such slippery slope mechanics. It just seems to favour randomness to me i.e guess right twice and win.

Ogre’s buttons are pretty good. Hwoarang beats him because 2LP-5MK>MK>6, 5LK>MK xx 623HP xx 63214LP, 5MK>LK>6, 5MK>LK>6, 5MK>LK>6, etc. His crouching hitbox is too big.

And it seems like his limbs aren’t as good either. And iam starting to think that hwo loses to bison his limbs are too good and he has the wierdest hitbox in the game

Oh god, his hurtbox… so much stuff whiffs on him, not only Hwoarangs (though it limits him severely in terms of blockstrings). Not trying to turn this into a Jin discussion, but his far st.hk and lp,mp,mk string also tend to whiff against Bison. Seems like his hurtbox shrinks like Xiaooyu´s when she´s in phoenix :wink:

Nevertheless, even though it´s weird, they can keep his boxes in my opinion. He´s quite limited in other areas.

Sagat’s hurtbox is also weird despite him being big, cr. mp, cr. mp doesn’t work on Sagat with Lili, or Cr. mp cr. mp xx qcb+mp with Kaz whiffs on him aswell.

Hwoarang’s 5MK whiffs Bison crouching, but not while he’s blocking or getting hit, so his usual strings aren’t really affected. I wonder if Bison can crouch under anything important enough to turn some matchups in his favor, though.

It screws my Jin gameplay big time. Jin´s footsies aren´t too great and using his roundhouse requires an opponent to fear neutral jumping. Bison can just commit to crouchblock and an occasionally thrown limb in my direction. If it wouldn´t be for Julia, I´d be lost in that matchup, at least against knowledgeable bisons who try to get a lead and then sit on it with patience.
Julia however completely shuts bisons offensive down when she has two meters. St.mk and St.hk can be punished on block with her super easily, and thats ~380 damage + unfavorable knockdown. Without meter she can still compete with his footsiegame and can catch bad jumpins easily with her dp´s. That matchup feels like mocking the bison player on a personal level and I love it :slight_smile:
