You can buy the connector; it’s a standard part. I can’t provide you with a part number, though.
Sanwa OBSF buttons for the HRAP3 - 30mm or 24mm?
Hi guys,
Firstly - this hardware forum is fantastic. I’ve spent a lot of time musing over recommendations, reviews, opinions and so on. After weighing up all the information on these boards, I opted a few months back for a HRAP3 stick for my PS3. I think its fantastic.
Now I’m looking at my modification options. The HRAP3 comes with a decent stock stick which I believe is Sanwa, although the buttons are made by Hori and I gather the Sanwa buttons are much better.
I’m curious as to what kind of Sanwa buttons are accepted by this stick in terms of swapping them out. I have found the following after a drawn out search on SRK though I am still somewhat uncertain about the correct measurements I require:

I am looking at the OBSF-30 buttons, specifically these ones:
Is anyone able to comment on my findings? I’d like to place an order, though obviously I’d like to be sure I am ordering the correct buttons that are compatible with my HRAP3 housing. I am unsure if I should be going for the 30mm or the 24mm option and would appreciate if someone could clarify this for me.
I gather the Seimitsu PS-15 buttons are compatible with this stick, and these are 30mm in diameter which logic would dictate would apply to the Sanwa OBSF-30 alternative. Am I correct?
I apologise if this has been clarified in this or other threads, though I have been unable to find concrete info on the measurements the HRAP3 requires for replacement buttons.
Cheers for reading, and thanks for such an informative forum.
- Shane
Edit: After searching another forum, I learned this:
*It’s OBSF-30 for the face buttons, and OBSF-24 for Start and Select. *
Hopefully others will find this information useful.
Need Help!!
Been playing with my xbox 360 TE stick and I’m not digging the square gate that it comes with. I’m assuming that these are sanwa parts that I am working with but I just wanted to be sure. Gonna try and switch it out for a “circular” or octagonal gate. Any help and suggestions would be appreciated as I am extremely green in this territory. Thanks in advance guys.
Your Mad Catz Street Fighter IV Arcade FightStick? Tournament Edition, it does have Sanwa parts.
The Joystick, it is Sanwa JLF.
Super specific; Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT-SK-W.
The stock Restrictor Gate you have is Square, the Sanwa GT-8F.
There is available an Octagonal Restrictore Gate for Sanwa JLF, it is Sanwa GT-Y.
There is no Circle Restrictor Gate for Sanwa JLF though.
Only the Circle is available for Sanwa JLW.
But what is it I am helping you with?
Laugh.
What am I supposed to suggest to you or help?
I don’t know.
You can see in this video of part remove Restrictor Gate from Sanwa JLF:

It is just pushing the tabs the hold the Restrictor Gate in.
All four tabs do same, then just remove.
Do you need assist in how to open your Arcade Stick or something?
But you type in Sanwa Thread, so I think you need help in Sanwa stuff?
Shoving OBSF-30’s into a Madcats SE, am I supposed to file off the stupid little rises underneath the button collar to make the buggers fit, or do I have the wrong buttons somehow?
Press down firmly until you hear them snap in.
I just bought 4 OBSF yellows and 4 blacks. I was just wondering if there was a way to swap the part that you push down on so that I have a yellow in a black cover and vice versa.
yup, just press in the tabs and push the plunger (microswitch and all) through the hole.
