Hey, want to ask a few questions about the psp if it’s no trouble.

has anyone played gundam battle chronicles? how is it?

also wanted to know if the new slim psp’ were easy to break. checked out some reviews and some of em said it felt cheap and instead of a secure lock for placing the game in it’s now a simple open and close system. is it possible for the latch to open up easily if your not careful?

A friend of mine just todl me that I shouldn’t buy a UK PSP because allegdedly they have blocked emulator content on memory sticks. However, this wasn’t on the slim editions, but the first generation line.
Can anyone confirm whether or not this is a problem with the PAL slim PSP?
Thanks.

I got a UK poospe and it plays emu’s just fine. Anyone tried out logan’s shadow yet? Having a hard time deciding what to delete of the mem stick to make room.

Word. Thanks!

Doubtful about the breaking thing. It’s just really light. As for the umd door…you’d have to be jumping around so much that you can’t keep the system still enough to see the screen properly…and even then. I’m currently shaking my psp like a red-headed foster child on fire just to test this. Door ain’t coming open. Besides: why have your psp naked? You can put those little screen protectors on it, sure, but something just might happen to crack the screen, like somebody drops it, or knocks it off it’s table or something. Slap that bitch inside a protective case that allows you to play it without physically removing it. It’s cheap, and really the best course of action for protecting something that’s so damn awesome.

it feels a little slow compared to the gundam seed version. there are more suits and more shit to unlock in chronicles. and most of the voices are original. it’s pretty good but some reason i like the seed version.

So I picked up my psp, FFT, and a 1G card tonight; can I trasnfer files to my card without using a USB? Maybe using Bluetooth or something to that effect (I dont have a wireless router, though)

AFAIK the PSP doesn’t support Bluetooth, just IR and WiFi. That’s as good as it gets for wireless connectivity.

And the Slim version doesn’t even have IR.

until i hack my psp… i was wondering something. (i have 3.50)

on an un-modded psp, are there any games or type of games (solitaire, snake…etc?) that i can straight put on a memory stick and play? cause i find myself just going wi-fi and mostly being kinda bored with it until i get Lumines for it. any ideas?

There are Flash portals with parlor games you can play on a non-hacked PSP… I haven’t tried them out myself… http://www.psp-vault.com/module-pnForum-viewtopic-topic-4968-start-0.psp

kool. snake is on there! its a way to occupy my time till i hack. thanx!

haha, its got an exact stop watch… now i can see how fast my s4 REALLY is…

is there multiplayer? just wanted a game that might resemble virtual on in a sense. oh and also, is it easy to navigate through the menu? can’t understand Japanese, just wondered if it would be a big deal.

Rhio2k: Thanks for the info. Have a ds already, but kinda tempted to get a psp. looks like it has quite a few good games on it.

yeah, there is multiplayer. it does resemble virtual on but the combat imo is slower. i used common knowledge as well as trial and error to navigate through the menus.

If I can fix few answers to help you, here it is:

1 - PSP is region-free when it comes to games. UMD movies have their respective regions.

2 - You must have a Memory Stick. Built in is only RAM (64MB on Slim)

3 - Sure.

4 - You might experience a few issues with Slim version. A least you’ve got to downgrade the system and turn on the custom firmware. Nearly all programs have their “read me” files so you will know it. About PSP, I suggest you http://psp.qj.net

5 - They work fine, that’s all I can say, I don’t have a lot of experience now. With custom firmware, you don’t even need PSone emu, you just put an iso file into a folder.

I don’t use CFW and I don’t support it very much ^^

Actually the PSX games need to be in EBOOT.PBP format. But yeah, once in that format you just stick them on…

Well, I purchased a cord that was for charging a PS3 controller today, thinking it would work as a connector from my PSP and PC (because it was only 4.99); for some reason, itdoesn’t work, even though it;s USB and all the ports match. Now I have to shell out 24 pounds for a cord, which is bullshit.

You tried putting the PSP in USB mode and it still didn’t work? That’s really odd because it’s exactly the same type of cable used for both.

Yeah, I’m retarded; I just assumed like most USB enabled devices it would automatically connect. I double checked the manuel because it seemed really strange to me considering what you said (they’re the exact same thing).
It worked.
Thanks for the help.
