You’ll find soon that 2GB is not enough; 4GB is always the way to go.
And NEVER buy sticks online (Ebay and such), 99% of the time are fake. Well, most videogame stores here also sell only fake MS, but that’s because real ones are too damn expensive.
I’ve bought LOADS of 4gig mem sticks from e-bay, and only ONE turned out to be defective. It looks like a regular 4gig, but it will only let use upto 2gig of storage. Anything copied to the space after the 2gig limit will become corrupted. Also it would randomly corrupt my game saves after 24 hours.
Apart from that they have all been fine. Price including delivery was around $40.
are they authentic sticks? they can just take lower sticks and make devices read them as a higher capacity stick. i got one and it was a bootleg even though it was an american seller. but the stick works the full 2gb though.
It doesn’t really matter, except that Sony sticks are almost always priced higher (and when they aren’t, there isn’t any negligible advantage). Lexar is decent MS licensee too.
How is Spectral vs Generation? I’m planning on picking up that and GGXX Slash, sometime this or next week.
The time when R/W speeds make a significant difference are in high-end devices like professional-grade digital cameras. You can see a speed increase in card readers too. PSP isn’t a device that recognizes different read/write speeds in flash cards. You are right about Sandisk sticks, but buying the fastest sticks (like Sandisk’s Ultra IIs) expecting better performance out of your PSP is wasting money.
I know, but there’s a slight difference in certain games. But for me, the main difference is when copying info from your PC to your PSP. There’s where the speed shines.
About Spectral VS. Generation, it’s just a poor men’s Guilty Gear.
I already mentioned that PSP doesn’t recognize the difference in R/W speeds. That includes when PSP is in mass storage mode.
Still, the price is almost always in Sandisk’s favor, so most people should be buying that brand for that reason alone. But if you find a discount on a Lexar or Sony stick that’s cheaper than Sandisk, you’d be a fool to pass it up. I’ll just leave it at that, no matter who disagrees.
I’ll have to disagree, as I have seen the 9-10 minutes that takes to fill a fake 2GB MS vs. the 6 minutes that takes to fill a Sony of the same size and the 3-4 that it takes to fill a Sandisk Ultra II of 2GB. But it doesn’t matter, as we’re not here to have heavy discussions about such small things. In this particular case, after all, is the size what matters, and Sandisk is almost non-existant here, as I’ve only seen one store that has Sandisk MS, the rest has only fake or Sony ones. Nothing to say about Lexar ones, as I have never seen one of those here.
How much time does those GoW demos take to arrive to your homes?
I want to buty a psp slim, but I don’t have access to a hacked chunky psp, nor do I have a ps3. Am I screwed in terms of emus (psx, cps and snk), or is there a chance of the homebrew crew coming up with a solution (if they haven’t already)?
Cool. In that case, I think I’ll go get one + Tekken 5 DR in the next 3 hours. How is the web browser? Can I post on this site with it? And apparently I can read ebooks and html files, too? Wow.
