Official PSVita/PSP chat thread

Wait…where’s my umvc3 Jill and Shuma? I gotta rebuy?

Sounds like a bad purchase. All 3 PS3 Uncharted games are great, even the Vita version is great, but it doesn’t make sense to buy a Vita to play Uncharted if you never played the others. I also would not buy a Vita to just play Gravity Rush, which I’m buying day 1.

You are basically saying it is worth it to you to play a single player game for $300, no game is worth that price.

100kb. exactly.

First, it was a gift in the form of a surprise. Second, it wasnt purchased to play just one game (or any particular game), but many. At the moment there are really no games I want. Uncharted looks cool but, like I said, I think I would rather just play the 3rd one on the PS3. Honestly, Im not sure how many games are even out for the thing. The only games I know about are Uncharted, Wipeout, Star Dust, and that one with the ball that you can roll around by touching the back. I was never willing to spend the 250 for the system so I never bothered to look at what games are dropping on release and what games will come soon after. The only reason I even know about Gravity Rush is because someone posted a video of it a few pages back.

In any case, im not gonna complain that my dope ass wife decided to surprise me with something like this.

Are you trying to convince me that there will be no worthwhile games for the Vita in the future?

He wouldn’t want THIS one if he’d played 2 or 3’s multiplayer, then found out that since ND handed the developing off to another company, MP wasn’t in the vita version. I would have bought it myself, but you know the motto around here: No Mai, No- whoops, wrong one! No MP, no es por me. Yeah, there we go.

Marvel’s great! Blazblue as well. Then we have Little Big Planet…pushed back to June (dammit!!)…just look around, you’re sure to find SOMEthing you fancy.

I dont even care about multiplayer. I dont really care for multiplayer games lately, just single player games. Yeah, im one of the few people that doesnt mind a game not having any kind of multiplayer.

Lumines Electronic Symphony?

Or not your thing?

Yeah, that one I may get but I would feel like such a sucker for getting. I have Lumines on the PSP and the 360 (still champ status) so do I really need it for another system? Maybe…

Like I said in the lounge, I never really paid much attention to the games or anything really psv related. Now that I know im getting one I’ll have to start paying attention and look at the games and shit. I’ll find something I like, maybe not right away but I will.

I’m not convincing you, you convinced yourself posts back about it not being worth it now, waiting for price drop and a game. There are plenty of games now, plus of course more in the future, I have 6. Gravity Rush is the next game I’m fiending for.

You didn’t buy Uncharted? Shit is actually pretty good. I would like the reviewers that gave it luke warm reviews, to tell me a better portable action game similar to Golden Abyss? I’m up to Chapter 25. This game is more like the first Uncharted, more adventuring and platform climbing. I think the game is much longer though. I haven’t seen any huge set pieces like 2 or 3 had. The game has way more collectibles in game than all 3 Uncharted’s combined, even after you get a bunch Drake even says “Wow it’s raining Jade around here”. It is impossible to get them all on first try the way the game goes.

So, even though the PS Blog says only some PSP content is available on Vita, you can bypass the restrictions if you have a PS3.

Re-download your PSP games and DLC through the PS3 (or buy new content), DON’T install it to the PS3, then use the Vita Content Manager to copy it over. The Vita will install uninstalled PSP content from your PS3.

I just installed Valkyria Chronicles 2, Killzone: Liberation, and Fate Unlimited Codes this way.

I will try it again, but I know I tried this before with Phantasy Star Portable 2 and Socom and the Vita couldn’t see either of them. Now the Vita is 2 firmwares newer than when I first tried it. I only have a handful of digital PSP games, about 5 or 6.

Like I said, DONT install them on the PS3. They have to be in that clear bubble thing. They will show up when you boot Content Manager on Vita ONLY if you didn’t install them.

Does it even allow you to install them? Im pretty sure the psp games I have on my ps3 are in that clear bubble but im not allowed to install them to the ps3. See, thats pretty cool, I’ll just play some psp games (I have like 6 on the PS3 that I havent played yet) on that bitch till I can figure out what game(s) I want.

Someone put a list of games coming out in the next several months a few pages back so I’ll check’em out and see whats up.

I tried that with Modnation Racers for PSP and it didn’t work I think it automatically installed, both after downloading in the background and downloading while in the PS store. Sooner or later I might get Modnation Racers for PSvita if multiplayer comes but until then NAH…

No, I knew about the install thing. I deleted them ,and re-downloaded them. Like I said, this was last month, I will try it again tomorrow. I hope it will work for PSP2.

Yes, you had to install them to get the PSP to transfer it, it puts it in a PSP folder on your PS3.

Well, they arent in a psp folder on my ps3. All the games I have downloaded are all in the same column under Games. PSP, PS3 and PSN games all mingled in the same row. These are games that I have downloaded on the ps3 but havent moved to the psp. That may be why. When I click on any of the PSP games it says “this content is not available for use” followed by some other shit.

Edit - I went and looked some more. It turns out I did put two of those games (patapon and LocoRoco) on the psp. There is no folder for the psp other than the save data utility folder and that is empty.

If you press Square while at the Games menu on the PS3, it will change how the games are arranged - by title, by format, etc. Just make it so that everything is arranged by format, and you’ll be good to go.

Maybe it installed them automatically in the “Game” directory, my downloads all sit outside until they are installed. PS3, PS2,PS1,PSP, Neo Geo. If you hit square, it separates your games, then after that you would probably have to install them to use since it doesn’t do anything with them.

I brought Marvel to work, fucking crackhead UPS driver came hella late, after 7pm. I’ve seen the guy at my grandmother’s house in the past buying rocks, he probably stopped over their on the way.

Got to say, I’m hating the D-Pad for fighters, like was mentioned earlier. I don’t even like the fact that you can feel the analog stick, then you tend to move your thumb away. I wasn’t that great at Blazblue, but with the execution in that game, I’m just gonna mash Noel D and pick up the rest of the shit later. PSP D-pad was great, a little stiff, but better than Vita by a mile. The placement fucks it up.

If you play pad on ps3, you’ll get used to it pretty quickly. I’ve been DEVOURING other players online for 2 days now. It’s like no other serious players bought the vita version…
