Official PSVita/PSP chat thread

So do they mean that in the future, some ps3 games will have an “install on vita” option on the game’s xmb menu, similar to how lbp2 had a couple demos and that Sackboy’s Prehistoric Moves game you could install?

I have no clue on what they plan on delivering, but PS3 Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD if I remember correctly has the PSP game in the XMB and you transfer that to your PSP.

If every game did that, it would be wonderful, but were is the publisher’s incentive? They would be developing 2 games, and only making money on 1. I could see Sony doing it, but so far the launch Vita games do not.
UMVC3 has some interaction, but you need both PS3 & Vita game, not sure about BBCSEX.

Is the target $25 gift card a online promo only? Might just get vita from amazon save on tax.

Best Buy is holding my Vita for now. Did anyone spot a BlazBlue: CS Extend for Vita at BB? It’s disappeared from the site, and I was hoping to make an exchange.

I’m really debating on getting either a WiFi or 3G version. But those B2G1 deal is killing it for me haha.

I wonder since my PSN account has been used up to 4 systems on a PS3, will it be able to count as 2 usage on the handheld (PSP/Vita)?

There shouldn’t be much debate because you have to buy a memory card.
3G version comes with a memory card, plus SuperStardust Delta after you activate the free 250MB data plan.
Unless you were going to get the wifi from Amazon, because they are throwing in a 4GB card for free.

Okay, quick question. I just saw a Vita commercial and it said 3G Gaming in it, which leads me to believe that you’re supposed to be able to play multiplayer games over 3G (with AT$T no less.) I have an iPhone already and trying to even play iPhone SF4 over 3G is just jokes even with a good connection. How do they seriously expect to be able to provide a decent gaming experience over 3G? Or am I completely missing something??

“Gaming” probably means leader boards for the purpose of that ad.

The cake is a lie! The online gaming is over wifi.
The only 3G gaming I heard of, is Hot Shots take turn. I’m assuming it just sends scores back and forth. Sony + AT&T aren’t allowing multiplayer over 3G.
The 3G is pretty worthless on the unit, but since it comes with extras, it’s not a bad choice. If it was $50 more and you received nothing extra, it would be best just spend the extra $50 on a game. Since it comes with extras, you might as well pick up the 3G launch bundle.

So, searching for Vita on the PS Store through PS3 has turned up a Netflix app for Vita and Blazblue CS Extend for Vita for a slight discount.

Yeah, the PS3 interaction sucks on it right now. Even if you want to buy something, you can’t even find it without using your Vita. Through your Vita, everything shows up. There is a tab for Vita, a tab for Minis, & a tab for PSP on Vita. The digital versions of the Vita games seemed to be $5 off.

Okay I was just checking. To be honest, “3G gaming” made me chuckle a bit and unless you don’t already have a smartphone, I cant really see the benefit of paying the extra money for the 3G model and THEN forking over money to AT$T.
:stuck_out_tongue:

Hope nobody who attended midnight Vita releases got jacked. Also, I hope you had the sense to stay in the store and check out your screen for dead pixels before leaving.

I saw the Vita when I was at Future Shop the other day. The PSP section was killed off or either sold off for extremely cheap.

The Vita’s buttons are way too small. The analogs are way too small. Unless you’re a tiny asian man or a 5 year old, the system isn’t built for you. Whoever was talking about the same thing a few pages back, I definitely agree with you. I didn’t even bother to try out Uncharted because of how salty I was over the buttons, analogs and d-pad sizes.

I’ll get a Vita down the road when a new version of the system eventually rolls out, but for right now, I’m not done collecting PSP/DS games.

Got my Vita in my hands; going to lunch to set up my games and stuff.

Blah, I won’t have it completely paid off until Friday. :shake:

Absolutely NO ONE in the area seems to have the 32 gigabyte memory card. I only bought MvC3…was going to get Dynasty Warriors as I’m in the mood for Devil Kings cause I really want to play the new One Piece game, and I’m thinking about NGSP…but I need a memory card for all that, and the price per gig is fucking wasteful @ 4 gigs and 8 gigs - and at that point I might as well get the 32 and be ‘set’ for a year or two.

Lockerz.com, get points and get the 32gb for $75.

Im wondering something. If the price of this thing drops to say 180 or so within the next year do those of you that purchased it already feel you should be compensated for buying it now?

I’m kind of on the fence for the vita right now. I mean, I want one because its shiny and cool. However, I don’t really “do” mobile gaming, I don’t really have a problem using my handhelds at home…but I wonder if it will be worth it to just wait for a price drop or the inevitable “uncharted” package…or even a 64 gb card to be release… Is it true uncharted is like, a 3 gig install? Doesn’t that make a 4 gig card kind of useless?
