The brand is the same exact one you’ll see in BestBuy or wherever that sells Memory Sticks. It’s Memory Stick Pro Duo with Magic Gate. It cost me a total of $67.99 on eBay after shipping, which wasn’t bad at all considering BestBuy’s retail price for one. I saw some people got their’s a little cheaper than I did mine (freaking auctions), but I’m not complaining with the deal I got. Also, I got this pink “Multi in one” memory card reader that you plug into the USB port. It’s pretty cool.

As for the writing speed, it seems about the same. I just copied a 68.5MB WMV movie in about 40 seconds or so. A 1.75GB WMV movie took about 5-7 minutes to write. With the memory card reader, it takes it a while to transfer the data before it actually starts writing it.

All in all, I’m very pleased with it :lovin:

SD card classes are the general speed/reliability rating for it. Right now 16GB microSDHCs are still class 2, which means they are SLOOOOOOWWWWW. I currently have 2 8GB ones which are class 6 and they are virtually indistinguishable from an equivalent Memory Stick Pro Duo. And with the 16GBs out now that means that the prices for the smaller sizes will drop as the 16GBs get faster.

There are some speed testing homebrews around, you should try one and compare your results with the ones for branded MS (the results usually come with the homebrew), if you have CFW in your PSP.

What Alphastorm said. I have A LOT of music that I’ve had to alternate on my Memory Sticks due to lack of space, and movies I’ve wanted to put on my PSP for the longest. Now that I have my 16GB, I’m gonna fill up that space pretty quickly.

As far as games go, I play the hell outta Gitaroo Man Lives! and just started my second playthrough of Yggdra Union on hard mode. I never really bothered to look into getting my PSP modded, just wanted it for music/movies/games really.

The psp is imo a very good music player. I use mine mostly for learning languages like Chinesepod and Spanishpod. I have tried playing fighting games on it but my fingers get tired quickly. However, it is really good for rpg type games or anything that doesn’t require quick motions.

So I’ve been playing Dj Max Portable 2 and loving it. Honestly, I can’t stop playing. I’m terrible though. It looks like this game requires ALOT of playtime to get better.

I played the original DJ max and loved it, if you like games like Pop’n music or Beatmania/IIDX then the game’s awesome. Haven’t picked up the second DJ Max game though.
