Official PSVita/PSP chat thread

perhaps sony realized it was better to go for the big cheese than do a cat and mouse games of firmware updates for so long.

I played a little of the Wipeout Pulse demo… uh… the cars are ā€˜heavier’ than in Pure, and not as floaty… that sort of makes it more like ā€˜generic future racer’ than the traditional Wipeout that’s sorta like a boat race. I only played one track but that’s the first thing I noticed. The graphics are a lot more detailed, but the game is still 30 fps… as great as Pure still looks, I would’ve kept the detail in Pulse the same as the last game, if that meant upping the framerate to 60… you can still overclock the game for better framerate though.

Where is said demo?

I got a demo for the Siphon Filter game in the mail a couple days ago.

I open it up and then it says I have to update. I then turned the game off and put the PSP back in his lil PSP labeled mitten.

Remember how excited we all were when we first got our PSPs?

LOL, now look at us, the only thing we have to look forward to is remakes of PS1 and Sega games. Video Games are dying man, :B.

eh…syphon filter DM is not a remake. its a NEW game and its pretty good too.

I didn’t say it was a remake.

I just didn’t play it because it was going to make me update my system. Not that I use Iso’s or anything, but having the little update screen come up just killed all my interest.

This is the NEW new Syphon Filter. Logan’s Shadow. BTW.

I’m considering the purchase of a PSP strictly for the 2D fighting games. Here’s my question: How is the responsiveness of the d-pad and buttons. I’ve read some comments that the buttons have a slight pause, but I wanted to get other opinions. Thanks in advance.

I can barely do a fireball on the d-pad… it seriously pretty bad. The analog nub sorta sucks for fighting games

If you’re not going to mod it and use it only for 2-d fighting games, i’d want until the psp slim comes out which they’ll be revamping the d-pad

I did the ufighterx (or whatever its called) mod on the d-pad, and its more responsive. Tekken plays fine, but I haven’t really tried it on a street fighter type game.

i did the dpad mod too, and i can say now it is worth !
I used to have trouble to get jumpin to the right with the dpad, but now it feel so nice , i can do SPD , 720 , and DP and even complicated moves like nash super, somersault justice, most of the time i played ZERO3 and GG XX Slash on PSP.

And now with the cps2 adhoc emu, i love my psp more n’ more !:lovin:

Seems SF3 rom is now playable on the mame emu. So does that mean we can rock SF3 on psp using the psp mame emu?

 i got one launch day. for ridge racer! and to watch porn.

no. that should be pretty obvious.

it’s probably up to the PSP MAME homebrew’s creator to update the MAME version up to CPS3-compatibility…

spec wise i’m saying it’s not feasible. the psp can’t run every cps2 game perfect, how in the world is it run cps3? i doubt 32mb of ram would be enough for the spirtes for one character let alone 2.

What’s the most complex CPS2 game available? I’ve never seen one the PSP can’t handle…

progear or mars matrix.

while it can certainly handle them all i wouldn’t call it perfect. there are times when it misses a few frames and iirc the emu by default, is set to auto frame skipping.

and how do they stack up to SFIII?

I lost count how many times people doubting PSP’s emu abilities got owned (not many people thought it could ever run PS1, GBA or CPS2 perfectly or as well as it does), but with all the animation frames and scaling in CPS3 games… I’ll believe it when I see it in person.

I was told the psp slim was a hoax or something, apparently the picture they released is the same one they used for the first prototypes for the psp years ago. I’m not sure what to think anymore.

i just bought ghost and goblins and this game is a must have for everyone. this garbage is difficult and graphics are nicely done.
