Official NCAA College Football 2011/2012 Thread: Now with less Tressel

Would be funny if Boise’s loss allows Houston to somehow sneak into that BCS spot. I would hope that Boise might still be able to get it though. OT loss to opponent that’s undefeated in conference. Alabama setting the standard for the little guys.

But let’s all give a great bit LOL to Texas Tech. Getting their shit pushed in 3 straight weeks, including that loss to Iowa State. Oklahoma gotta be mad salty every time Tech loses like this. This team ended your title dreams, Sooners. You’re a disgrace to Adrian Peterson.

Alabama is better than Oregon and has a better resume.

i guess its hard to appreciate two solid defense programs doing their job when you are used to 50 point back and forths all the time.
the sec is the best and strongest conferences sorry.

We will never know that because they do not do playoffs. They I mean this division in the NCAA, even Division II has playoffs.

Yeah, scheduling the likes of Western Kentucky in November is something strong teams do. Or being like Florida and flat out refusing to schedule OOC games outside of Gainsville. Or playing only 8 conference games.

The funny thing is, Oregon is likely going to miss out on a second consecutive BCS Championship berth because they had the balls to schedule a neutral (lol not even) site game with LSU. Had the likes of Kansas State or Georgia (both canceled home-and-home games with the Ducks because they are pussies) kept their contractual obligations, the Ducks would likely be undefeated right now.

Oregon is hurt more by the Pac-12 being uncharacteristically bad and USC being on punishment than the fact that they’re not undefeated. Prior to tonight, their best win was against what appears to be a pretty ordinary Arizona State team, and they got beat by 13 by LSU in a game that wasn’t that close. Assuming they beat USC next week, which is no foregone conclusion, there’s a decent chance they’ll end up playing a 5 loss team in the Pac-12 championship game, which is a pretty bad look for their SOS.

yeah im sure that its because “they had the balls” -_-

I’m not denying the Pac is in a down year, but if Oregon played someone else (remember, the only reason LSU/Oregon happened was due to schools jumping out of contracts) and won, they very well could be 10-0 right now in the thick of things. Oklahoma State probably would still be ranked ahead of Oregon but they have a pretty damn tough test against Oklahoma (which is apparently OSU’s kryptonite).

Why else would Oregon agree to do a one-off game at a site that guaranteed Oregon fans would be outnumbered 3 to 1? The money? Oregon has one of the largest benefactors in the nation backing them up. Plus they are on ESPN almost every week.

Let’s get one thing straight: LSU was pretty damn awful last season. They quite literally lucked their way though a few games. Their QB play sucked. Les Miles apparently didn’t take “Clock Management 101”. They pretty much were propped up by their defense. Coming into the 2011 season, most everyone thought LSU was going to be in deep shit with Jarred Lee (pick six king from a few years ago) and a lot of new players. Somehow LSU found an offense and their defense didn’t degrade at all. Props for that. Oregon had a bad game due to a lot of new starters. You can’t tell me that game wouldn’t be a lot closer in a rematch at the end of this season.

yeap you got it. im sorry but oregon is not some individual with a higher code “having balls” and disregarding money because “they make enough”…cmon be serious for a moment.

also feel free to nitpick seasons you prefer to build your point some more, meanwhile il just look at the bcs championship difference for SEC and non SEC schools…

Come on, Iowa State. Ruin everything. You can do it.

Absolutely amazing. Who saw that coming?

The question now, assuming they win out: Who out of Bama, Oregon, and Oklahoma will get to face LSU for the NCG?

I’m rooting for Baylor to upset Oklahoma and USC to knock off Oregon just so I can see the sheer ridiculousness of three teams in the same division ranked 1-3.

I’m kinda surprised Arkansas is ranked so high after needing a miracle to beat Vandy and struggling with Ole Miss.

I’m also curious as to how much those horrendous losses both Oklahoma teams took will affect them against Oregon (since they have more quality wins but Oregon easily has the most quality loss).

Lee Corso is so awesome:

And last week, he asked where the little kid was when the cameras were focused on the Penn State huddle.
At least the FCC can’t fine him for saying it!

Herbstreit’s reaction was CLASSIC.

The whole $100 bill thing they where doing too. And lol at the G3 My Little Pony sign in the background too on college gameday as well.

Mighty Georgia Southern has put 3 TDs on Alabama.

 at Clemson.

LOL Clemson and / or ACC.
