Official NBA Thread 2k9-2k10 "Fantasy B-Ball & regular NBA talk"

Lebron played like shit. He wasn’t aggressive at all. Elbow nothing. You’re the MVP and you’re just gonna puss out like that? It looked like he checked out mentally at halftime and started imagining himself in a Knicks uniform in the 2nd half.

i was thinking the same thing. if boston ends up beating cleveland, i think that their series would go 7 games against orlando…

Ok so I took the liberty to Bold and underline your points, Pretty nice points but…

ALL THINGS THE CAVS DON’T FUCKING DO!!!

The Cavs have yet to learn how to utilize there new weapons BECAUSE of there superstar, because his game is so limited and flawed it stifles the rest of the team.
Everyone runs to the excuse of “His teammates should be ready to hit the open Jumper” but people ignore the fact that he dribbles all day, he is a bad streaky shooter, he chucks up shots that have slim to no chance of going in and his teammates can’t get into a flow.

A.Jamison used to be the #1 option for his team the past 4+ Years, soooo doesn’t that mean he would need significant touches in order to be a true threat for this team?? Instead of a dish off option when Lebron can’t go 1 v.s. 5???
Also why is it ok for Lebron to go 1 v.s. 5??
People road Kobe’s nuts when he did it sooo why isn’t Lebron getting the same treatment AND he has less player skill to be doing this ish anyway!!!
The Cavs front office made some pretty SOLID moves to get the Cavs into contention and to last longer then just a 2-3 year run like the Celtics YET… Lebron STILL hasn’t grown into the team player/team leader that can be a champion right now, neither has his coach… the other Mr/Potato head!!!
“Z” has never been used for the potential 16-10 player he could have been the past few years so why would you use him as an example now??
The Cavs won’t even use him in there current series to pull Garnett away from the hoop, what makes you think they would use common sense and do it in the Magic series??
Mo Williams has gone into the shitter, I blame him but I blame Lebron just as much, Mo gives up easily, especially when his opposing PG runs through that booty hole butt bone dry!!!
West has emotional problems AND both he and Williams are not considered real threats to the Magic DUE to the length they had LAST SEASON and what they acquired THIS SEASON!!!

This seems to be pretty idiotic lol.
Ok so when comparing the two teams Cavs v.s. Orlando… Orlando isn’t better DESPITE the whooping they gave the Cavs LAST SEASON in there so called destiny run towards the title???
Despite the Fact the Cavs continue to struggle hard when playing against the Magic??
The Cavs AREN’T the Celtics wo why are you comparing what they did to them in the first place??
The Celtics have multiple options… THAT THEY UTILIZE, the Cavs do as well but the resort to them, meaning they settle to use them, everything is all Lebron or bust, this is a team game and that doesn’t total up to being the BETTER TEAM!!!

The Moves the Magic made??
Well they got larger in size, a bit younger, they got a slasher in Vince Carter who might I add, despite his age is STILL a beast when he actually takes it to the rack!!
The Slasher they wanted Lewis to be.
Orlando still kept there core together AND they are healthy, they haven’t needed to lean on D.Howard in either of the 1st 2 series which makes them all the more dangerous… Why you ask??
Because he is healthy and rested, he didn’t have to play lots of minutes do to blow outs and foul trouble, if he faced the Cavs he would be prepared.
Oh in addition to there killer 3 point percentage which the Cavs are not good at by the way

LOL I love this post LOL

Need I go back and show my post on why Boston is the best team in the league (when healthy)?

I don’t think Kendrick Perkins gets the respect that he deserves as a defensive big man who isn’t an offensive liability. He isn’t a monster like Dwight Howard but he can shut down any big in the game. Big’s numbers against him absolutely DROP. He’s getting up in the Robert Parish realm of my “big men who are quiet, play sick d, and battle hard no matter what night it is” list. He sets bone crushing screens, has developed nicely around the hoop, and understands his role as a 4th/5th option guy. But he doesn’t just mope around on offense like a schmuck, he’s ACTIVE.

Rondo vs Jameer is going to be great  Unlike Williams, this other little fella can play some d.

I’m still picking the Celtics over the Magic because of the following reasons:

A) Perkins can battle one-on-one with Dwight. Dwight isn’t a go-to-guy anyway. He can’t be the focal point of the offense; or take over a game offensively. He’s more worried about flexing his muscles, smiling, blocking shots, and throwing down a monstrous dunk a few times a game (all things he is VERY good at) because he knows his limitations. He doesn’t want the ball in crunch time, and doesn’t have the tools to execute in crunch time anyway. But MAN are those commercials funny! He deserves a puppet, even Big Z got a puppet.

B) Vince Carter will pee down his leg come crunch time–guaranteed. I don’t think any other “superstar” in the game the past decade has been hated on more for cowering away in the clutch than Vince. Before we had LeBron and the elbow we had Vince Carter and “insert body part here”. We all know the guy VC is; we’ve all played with him.

Scenario:

Somebody smacks his finger while he drives to the basket and doesn’t get the call AND he misses the shot. So what does he do? He doesn’t run back on D. He grabs at his finger, whines to the ref about getting hacked, and shakes his hand repeatedly the rest of the game whenever he makes a bad play or misses a shot because he wants you to remember that he has an excuse for playing so shitty.

Plus the fact that he’s a jump-shooter now who can only attack the basket and finish with a strong right handed lay-up every so often–I wanna say dunk but I think he can only do that on an uncontested breakaway. Basically I don’t think you want him to have the ball in the clutch either.

C) The Celtics are healthy again (unlike last year). KG is back. Their bench is feeling good. They have a good rotation going. Last year they had Brian Scalabrine getting primo minutes down the stretch (YES BRIAN SCALABRINE) against top-notch competition. I’m glad to see him in street clothes right now, that’s for sure, and not out on the floor getting burnt by any man he attempts to guard. You can’t hid a Brian Scalabrine on defense; you just cant.

D) Brian Scalabrine is in street clothes. See “C” for more detail.

E) The rest of the Celtics can hold their own against the Magic:

Rondo/Nelson
Allen/Carter
Pierce/ Pietrus
KG/ Lewis
Perkins/ Howard

Then you think if Celtics need to go D they can just sub in Tony Allen who can guard ANYBODY.

F) The Celtics have that killer instinct. They know how to dig down and fight adversity. You look at the Magic…not so much.

All in all I think Lewis will be the X-factors for the Magic. He’s a versatile guy

in old news, i really didn’t expect the jazz to lose game 4. it’s like they gave up when the lakers pulled away in the first half, showed signs of life at the end of the first half/some of the third quarter, then checked out when they started to pull away after. oh well, serves them right for their fans getting personal with fisher. nice rest for the lakeshow. i also didn’t expect the cavs to lose like they did, if at all. this has to be demoralizing for the cavs, so i believe that they’ll checkout much like the jazz if boston gets a double-digit lead early in the next game. on another note, i can’t wait for someone to knock perkins out. he tried his bullshite with shaq, and he wasn’t having it.

People are counting the Cavs out a little too early IMO, don’t be surprised if they win game 6

I’d like a game 7 please. Along with 3 OTs and an epic corner 3 buzzer-beating finish by Scalabrine over a jumping LBJ. And don’t ask why he’s playing at crunch time.

i’d love a magic/suns finals.

Man here’s to hoping Boston pulls one out tomorrow. Nothing would make me happier than to see LBJ go down flaming 4 straight years without a title.

Very interesting.

Some of the stuff is true, but a lot of it is your opinion. It seems like you’ve watched like five Magic games.

Can’t be any less true, every announcer ever and even Stan van says, Dwight doesn’t NEED to score, he just needs the ball in his hands to make things happen. Offensively this year’s Dwight is much greater than last years, and teammates are FINALLY getting him the ball when he is in good position (defender on his back, 3ft away from the basket).

Once again not true. Probably not as cluch as Mr.4th Quarter last year, but when Vince Carter penetrates he gets a decent shot or gets fouled. He’s changed so much since playing here. Van Gundy has that a way with shooting guards.

We didn’t have Jameer last year either, just FYI.

Did you watch last year’s playoffs?

Pierce Planet Pietrus comes off the bench, Matt Barnes starts. But either way, it won’t be an easy assignment for anyone.

With all this said, right now as the way things look, I want to play the Cavs, they just seem so vulnerable right now. But the series is far from over. And you must know LBJ is going to have one of those games where he dominates. Question is, can he do it two more times.

People keep talking about the Cavs showing up out of desperation for Game 6 like Boston won’t be. Boston is a Veteran team who knows what they have to do to seal the deal. KG said it at the end of the game. If we are going to win this series we can’t have a game 7 in Cleveland. Boston is going to play Game 6 like it is Game 7.

I’m not really a James fan or believer, but the series ain’t over. Let the analysts and other morons like Charles Barkley stuff their feet in their mouths. There’s plenty (PLENTY) of shit to talk after he chokes in Boston and parks his U-Haul van outside Quicken arena.

It’s not like the Cavs can’t beat them in Boston to force a Game 7. That’s why the C’s need to close this shit out in Game 6 while they’re on top. With the exception of Game 3 (and the 4th quarter of Game 1), Boston has outplayed Cleveland for much of this series.

Woooow…

lol @ ESPN hyperbole @ lebrons rookie season. Most talented rookie ever? That quick we forget Russell, Wilt, Bird, Magic, and Jordan?

What about Duncan?

I need to watch this Charles video.

Even when Lebron fails to show up and his team is on the brink of elimination, ESPN still sucks his dick.

I wonder what Elbow James thinks of this.

BTW, I just remembered that Utah has a lottery pick (from NY) that could go 9th or higher.
