THe Hawks’ biggest advantage for playoff contention is health, and they could go deep if Celts and Magic are hobbling into the postseason. Even in that best-case scenario, I don’t really see ATL beating Cleveland in a series.

I mean can someone else tell me why they are a championship contender? I know Josh Smith hasn’t been shooting 3’s because of Lothar and now they have a real good 6th man, but is that it?

its a combo of things. Crawford is a huge addition because he can create his own shot. If you double on joe johnson we swing the ball to jamal and let him get open looks or take his guy off the dribble. Joe is getting better looks now imo. Our defense interior defense is great. Josh smith has raised his game to another level is the main reason the hawks are do well this year. No more stupid 3’s = no wasted plays on offense. He FINALLY realized that when he drive to the hole that very few players in the league can stop him once he gets around the basket. Josh smith is the best pf in the eastern conference as of today. I cant believe i just said that, but its true. Well I might take bosh over josh, and maybe kg, but thats it. Josh is leveling up on the offensive side of the ball. The hawks arent a 1 player team anymore. Al horford is the 4th best center in the east imo.
