Blowing Up the Lakers:
The problem with the whole Blowing up the Lakers or not blowing them up, the Lakers have no legit components they can move outside there major 5 in order to gain the talent needed to regain there championship status.
People are ignoring the fact that the league is geared towards the high octane players and teams, even the OLDER Mavericks squad got some energetic players that now fill a large void they have had for numerous years.
That energy has now turned into solid defensive stops, consistent slashing to the hoop, earned wide open 3 point shooting and now the sheer dominance of the former champion L.A. Lakers
The Lakers are missing many valuable pieces on there squad in order to compete and or defeat these other up-in-coming teams.
Portland-OKC-Memphis are all younger and energetic, they are also pretty deep, the lakers in comparison to just these teams are not, once you mention the Spurs,Mavs there is no contest, Lakers still lose out in terms of the bench.
Moving on from that, the word consistency that I keep placing in this thread yet people choose to ignore.
Lamar Odom is the mOST IN-CONSISTENT on that team and he along with D.Fisher,Luke Walton & Ron Artest were on this squad 1 or 2 years too many!!
Artest is an offensive liability, his defense has also become inconsistent, D.Fish is a liability on both ends. All teams you mention on the rise or are currently in the playoffs can rape the Lakers at the PG, SF, PF positions.
Yes the Lakers won 2 championships but that shit don’t change the fact that they have MAJOR HOLES and Pau Gasol is fucking soft as baby shit after a warm bottle of similac!!
A.Bynum is always injured and waiting nearly half a season EVERY YEAR for him to recover and get into the flow of things has cost the Lakers on numerous occasions.
Lamar Odom’s in-ability to show up has kept the lakers from being able to spread the floor and dominate from the inside out.
It makes no sense people brag about the lakers length, reach and arm span yet…they got out rebounded by the Mavericks.
People saying they do not need to blow this team up are living in a fantasy land.
What are the Key phases to a championship calibur team?
Why is it in regards to the Lakers people chose to ignore the answer to the above question??
Do the Lakers currently have the “Key Phases” needed to be a championship calibur team again?
The Honest answer is no, yes they have a few components, many are inconsistent but the end all be all is NO!!
Solution to the problem, MOVE the NECESSARY pieces in order to regain your status as the “Kings of the Hill” and someone or some individuals from that major 5 MOST GO, not just because of contracts but there in-ability to play consistently together DESPITE being together for multiple years now
