I am confused by Tyson’s trades.
At least Satomi has now joined the Superteam tier.
I was like “I guess I could veto this?”, but trades that need to be veto’d are usually easily spotted and don’t need to be thought about for a second.
Typical Tyson. Wait half a season without making trades then make a team exploding horrible trade to crash and burn for the rest of the year.

I hope the suns trade nash soon. They are ass, he does’nt deserve to have to play for a team that just continues to dig itself deeper and deeper into shit. Plus i am sure they could probably get good value for him. He could put a contender over the top.
At this point the only reason I see them keeping nash is to sell tickets, yet they’ve clearly shown no intentions of trading him. Without nash they are peeking the qualities of an expansion team, no matter how good the bench plays or carter preforms.

I don’t understand all the talk about the rush to trade Nash. Steve Nash is the exact type of asset you’re looking to trade FOR as a franchise. He is an elite player with a very team friendly economic contract. He gets paid like just above $10 million…so you’re not going to get equal talent back with matching salaries. That talent/money ratio is hard to find outside the rookie scale. So what are looking for? What would they be looking to get back for him? Draft picks? Expiring contracts?
They already have a bunch of cheap young guys competing at every position. They have like $20 million plus coming off the books this season with Vince and Grant Hill as expirings.
The only conceivable way he gets traded out of Phoenix is so that they can package in Childress or Frye with him to move their long contracts out. And trading Steve Nash just to facilitate a salary dump makes little sense.
Outside of that, the best way the can improve is to keep Nash and the rest of the team together another season, and use Vince’s money effectively this offseason.
(Considering how they used Amare’s money this last offseason though…that doesn’t seem likely.)
Kerr was on B.S report a few weeks back and he said that when he was at PHX they were not trading Nash unless they getting back a “cornerstone player.” Basically they want a 100% sure thing all-star. I’m assuming since he left that ideology hasn’t changed.
Butler was a bit of a black hole anyways.

eh, i don’t really think butler was a black hole on the mavs. he felt like more of a spot shooter and a 3rd or 4th option if a play dissolved. i think he fit well with the mavs.
but not to say that this ends mav’s hopes. marion should slide in and make a difference defensively as well as get a few hustle points. and there’s still alot of time before the trade deadline.
speaking of which, 2k started up a trade deadline timer, and it still has like 50 days on it… i guess it doesn’t hurt, but when did the trade deadline get on par with a big announcement or the olsen twins becoming legal?
