I will gladly admit I haven’t followed the NBA as much as I would have liked to in the last 10 years. If Isiah Thomas raped all your teams like he did ours, you would feel similar. I have never stopped cheering for them. Whenever they come to San Antonio to play the spurs (this is where i live now), I gladly bust out my Sprewell jersey and go. Not only do I get to watch the Knicks get raped, but I get spurs fans all around me talking about their 4 rings in the last 11 years vs the Knicks TOTAL of 2 rings. So yeah, I’ve always been a fan, but I’m not gonna run to SRK or Tekken Zaibatsu either when they only win 25 games for 10 years, no thanks
I am very serious. This thread is dedicated to the greatest team known to man since the 90’s Bulls the Chimeras. We allow talk about the Lakers and Raptors just because they have cool posters, and last we allow Fun League talk because it is the greatest fantasy league known to man. I keep up w/mostly NFL the last 10 years cause I’m a Giants fan. I also religiously watch the Yankees, but as I said above, zero reason to cheer for an organization that was horribly managed and embarassed. If i could erase the last 10 years of the Knicks I would.

WutchutalkinboutWillis? There’s only ever been like 4 Knick fans on SRK. I’m one of em, (been a Knick fan since the mid-80’s) and I’ve been in the NBA threads since they’ve started. Hell, I made a few of these threads in the last 10 years. It’s just that our team wasn’t worth talking about for the past decade.
Felton is playing at an All-Star level. It’ll be interesting to see if he makes it. Amare is in the top 3 in terms of MVP status right now, and if Blake Griffin wasn’t such a beast, Landry Fields could have gotten Rookie of the Year consideration. I’m digging the team we’ve got right now, and I hope we don’t have to gut it in order to get Melo. Give up Fields, Wilson Chandler, or Danilo to get Melo, for sure, but for the love of god don’t give up all 3. They’re all playing great together right now… Don’t fuck up your team chemistry when it’s all rolling so well. This next week will be a true test, it’ll be interesting to see their record at the end of this stretch.
The Knicks really should just wait for the summer, no one expects them to win a chip this season, just play it out, spend the season building your chemistry, make the playoffs, lose to the Heat or Celtics, then next year, replace Wilson Chandler, who’s a RFA they probably wouldn’t be able to keep anyway, with Melo during the summer and make a serious run at a ring in 2011-12 with a good team full of young players hitting their primes.

Who is Nori?
Here’s what I imagine for the Knicks:
Lose 1st round in playoffs
Acquire Melo via offseason
Become a 50+ team for a few seasons, losing in 2nd round
Finally reaches ECF and lose
Amare blows his knees out, team stuck with bad contract
Knicks becomes mediocre, Melo demands trade and team goes back to the pit
Knicks fans stop appearing in thread
Fuck that nobody even knows if it will be a next year yet with CBA issue. I wouldn’t gut the team but right now the Nuggets are in a no win situation.
I hate to say it but the Knicks have leverage from what was said Melo won’t sign the contract extension unless he’s traded to the Knicks, and no team outside of the Dumb Rockets have said that they would rent him for the rest of the year, without being able to resign him.

But the Sixers are talking equally dumb shit as the Rockets saying they want a package trade for Iguodala where the other team takes Brand also.
