So I was looking ahead in the programs on Dish network. I can’t find a Friday game. ESPN usually has a Friday game. Is there a game today? If there isn’t, damn you college football. If there is, what channel is it on?

He has his days, I would say at least 12 or 13. Curry is good but I think he is overrated as of now.
Nelson’s more of a SG than PG because he really can’t see the court that well but he can shoot much better than Jennings. Imo
Rondo’s great but I think he’s gets to much credit for his playoff success against Chalmers,Williams, and Nelson.
Williams can’t play D,and Chalmers can’t even secure a job from Carlos Arroyo

the biggest problem is why people are so adamant on ranking pg’s?
pg’s can be the most important position to the least important position depending on the system. pg’s can do alot if they have the freedom, but if they have to defer to another player or have another focus, then they obviously won’t shine as bright.
shooters are gonna shoot, rebounders and going to rebound, scorers are going to score. but point guards are supposed to… pass? score? bring the ball up? a little of everything? how many times have you heard the term “scoring point guard” or “passing point guard” or “defensive point guard”… how many times have you heard the term “scoring shooting guard” or “rebounding center”?
its dumb to think all point guards are equal, but its equally dumb to think that they are easily comparable. why does chauncy not get the same shine as westbrook, who people consider to be top 10? because the star on chauncy’s team likes to iso, he has a good post up player in nene, and gets most of his points from other people passing to him. westbrooks star likes to come off of screens for easy assists, gets freedom to dribble penetrate, and has a bunch of spot up shooters that make it easy for him to look good. both players are fairly equal in their abilities to score, fairly equal on defense, yet westbrook gets to shine brighter because of the system he’s in.
people love ranking pg’s yet, if you were to add 2 guards to the mix, a large majority of “pgs” fall out of the top 10 real fast. and that’s mainly because everyone has an idea of what a “shooting guard” is supposed to do… to score. yet nba only recognizes the “guard” position (guard forward center) yet people are so varied and opinionated about what a point guard is supposed to do and what quantifies a “good” pg. its an unfair comparison for all point guards, and any discussion revolving around pg’s are so convoluted and lack a distinct amount of objective thinking.
its one of the worst discussions you can have about the nba, but i’m someone who likes arguments because there can usually be someone who is right and someone who is wrong. arguments of who’s a good pg is just airing your opinions of what you value more from the point guard position, therefore you’re arguing semantics.

Nelson isn’t as much of a joke as Andre Miller is. Miller’s a good player. He is not a top 10 point guard in the league by any stretch of the imagination.
I’m going to be honest, I don’t know how to feel about Billups. Every time I think he’s washed up, he starts playing great, and every time I think “he’s back,” he starts playing like crap. What I do know about him is that he’s a plus defender and an elite free throw shooter. He shoots well from behind the arc and the perimeter in general, but he has a tendency to get reckless in the paint. Still, you can’t expect him not to try to get into the paint, because he draws fouls, which is good because he’s an amazing free throw shooter. His assist numbers have been on a steady decline, and he’ll probably never approach his 05-06 level of play again…I can’t really call it myself. I’d guess he’s somewhere between 9-15, depending on which version shows up.

As for what good it does talking about it? Well, if nothing else, it draws some attention to players that might otherwise be underappreciated. People have said they didn’t know who Raymond Felton was or had no idea how good Russel Westbrook is. I think that’s as good a reason to have the discussion as is necessary.

cuz its still a dumb argument. if you read what i said, i never said stop. i just said it was stupid. feel free to continue because someone learned about raymond felton for the first time in their life. if someone hasn’t heard about felton or knew westbrook was a good player, odds are there are alot of players they probably don’t know very much about. but i’m sure thats the kind of argument that you want to have with those kinds of people.

Defensively these guys are just a mess, I thought their interior defense would struggle, but I didn’t think their perimeter defense would be this bad either.
