Well NO got a lot of SG so he was expendable. I think every contract is expiring except Jacks(which wasn’t that bad to begin with). I’m sure Colangelo will find some way to waste the freed up cap space on some scrub.

If you aren’t European you are expendable in Toronto.

Maybe because he’s sucked in those 25 minutes? Come on, man, dude’s been around almost a decade now. You can act like he’s been victimized by circumstance for a while, but this is well past the statute of limitations. You make it sound like he hasn’t played well because he hasn’t gotten playing time, when it’s pretty clear he hasn’t gotten playing time because he hasn’t played well. When he hasn’t sucked, he’s gotten more playing time.

I mean, you know we’re talking about Darko, right? You know the monster game he just had brought his season field goal percentage UP to 37%, right? You know he’s shot 50% or better 3 times in 14 games this season, right? He just isn’t very good. That’s not to say he’s trash: he’s a good shot blocker, and a somewhat decent rebounder. He can’t shoot, though, from the field or from the line, and he never has been. And considering he was the second OVERALL pick in a pretty loaded draft, there’s pretty much no reasonable standard by which you could say he’s not a bust.

Also, Darko wasn’t stuck behind Marc Gasol. He started 64 games in '07-'08 and still couldn’t get a full 24 minutes per, because he’s a bad shooter. The next year he could have started at either PF or C, next to Marc Gasol, but he was beaten out for PT by a rookie Darrell Arthur and Hakim Warrick. Yeah, your victim of circumstance couldn’t beat those guys out. C’mon, son.

Darko’s best per-48 stats all put together and cherry-picked from different years and teams:

17.4 PPG (with Orlando in 05-06): good for 132nd in the league this year.
12.9 RPG (with Detroit in 03-04): good for 38th in the league this year.
3.6 APG (this year): 6th among centers this year.

I realize there are basic stats, but these are those of an average starter; which is good, but probably doesn’t merit a number two pick or $5M/yr when you ALREADY HAVE AL JEFFERSON AND GAVE HIM AWAY FOR NOTHING I AM SORRY TO BE TYPING IN CAPS BUT THIS STILL DRIVES ME CRAZY.

I’m curious as to how his >30mpg and <30 mpg stats look as you point out, but this looks pretty damning to me.

he’s just having a good week, like the two weeks jameer had two years ago prior to all star weekend and people calling him better than rondo

lol Rudy Gay with the game winner over Miami. He had to make up for that turnover that lead to the game being tied with 5 secs left

OMFG @ this Memphis game. i can’t believe Rudy just made that fucking shot. Arghhhhhh.

RUDY GAY!!! with 0.01 left. WOW what a GAME.

Z-BOOO with solid game too.

Ruuuuudy

Btw I don’t care if Darko is good or not, I just felt like trolling you all.

Of course even I got out-trolled since he got scooped up in fantasy before I could get him.

But anyway, the argument of “if he were good, he’d get more minutes” does not compute. Have you all forgotten NBA coaches are generally fucking stupid and players rot on their benches all the time because the coaches are too dumb to realize what they have? We’re seeing it right now… Serge Ibaka only got 18 minutes last year, this year he’s getting 30 minutes.

Mike Beasley is also an example of what happens when a player is actually given minutes and more freedom.

Mentioning Darko’s FG% was also pretty pointless, since he’s averaged 49% or more a few times in his career. That’s a bad slump right now, not “omg he totally sucks and can’t score.” Kaman is averaing under 40% too… wtf argument is that?

But I digress.

Admit it, u mad the Heat didn’t trade Beasley for him and Ridnour and see your ideal starting lineup of Darko, Bosh, LBJ, Wade and Luke come into fruition.

In other news, Blake Griffin has like five highlights tonight.

Griffin with 44/15/7. Woohoo!

That dunk against Mosgov was nasty. Damn. Can’t wait to see him live on Monday.

One coach or a few years? Sure. Three teams, 8 years, and a half dozen coaches? Probably not. Bad comparison skills, exhibit #1.

Mike Beasley’s talent has never been in question. It was more a case of him being a knucklehead/underachiever, and even so he was still way more productive than Darko has ever been. Also, he’s in his third season. Darko’s in his eighth. Also Beasley’s playing a whopping 3 more minutes per game than last year. Bad comparison skills, exhibit #2.

His career FG% is .453, which is subpar for a center. His career FG% is 58%, which is bad. He is not a good shooter. He might not be completely irredeemable, and he may have had a couple of halfway decent seasons, but that’s not the point. The point is that you’re blowing him up over 1 great game and 2 good games next to 11 terrible games.

Kaman has a career percentage above 49%. Darko has a career percentage around 45, which is almost exactly Kaman’s career low. Kaman has done what he’s done in over twice as many minutes as Darko. Also, Kaman is injured. You think there might be a reason to look at Darko and Kaman differently? Darko’s FG% being this low is a bit surprising because it’s even worse than his usual lackluster performance. Kaman’s being this low is shocking because it’s completely out of his character as a player. Bad comparison skills, exhibit #3. It’s also worth noting that Darko’s fg% trends higher when he plays fewer minutes, which contradicts your whole argument.

You forgot to counter his Ibaka example. Oh wait it’s not even a legit example since he was a rookie last season.

Just saw it on FB. Amazing.

Lebron = Craig Ehlo

And the PA played You Dropped a Bomb on Me

Rudy went gangsta on the Heat bench after hitting that jumper.
