Heisley is pretty close to being the worst owner in the league, one step behind Sterling lol
Nah he at least 10 steps behind Sterling. Sterling is just on another level. You just don’t know!
He didn’t really brag, he said they’ve made the playoffs 3 times which is decent when you look at all the small market teams. He said that to counter the interviewer’s statement of how Grizzlies fans are disappointed in their team, even though I think the interviewer meant the PR side of things like draftees not wanting to play there and not him questioning their playoff success.
I also kinda see Heisley’s reason for why he won’t offer the 120%, but if he wasn’t so short-sighted he would’ve realized a new CBA is coming next year and he can try and change it then. Anyways, I don’t think Heisley would’ve exploded like that if it weren’t for the interviewer being a douchebag.
EDIT: Heisley is also a douchebag.
how is that decent for a small market team?
hornets
spurs
jazz
bucks
cavs
all small markets and they did much better
The Spurs and Jazz are gdlk for a small market team.
Cavs suck and have always sucked. The only reason they were any good the last few years was because of LeBron, and now he is gone. Hornets suck too and have always sucked. They were semi good because of Chris Paul and it has been showing since his injury.
Bucks aren’t bad, but never were good either.
I would also consider Sac a semi small market team. They did well in the C-Webb days, but that is long gone too.
The Spurs and Jazz are lucky they keep getting stars.
Spurs had David Robinson followed by Tim Duncan.
Jazz had Stockton and Malone followed by Deron.
Portland should also get credit. (God I can’t believe I said that)
They fill their seats no matter what.
It really comes down to star power. The NBA is a a star driven league and no team can do shit without a superstar. The only exception was those Pistons.
Sterling is in a class of his own. He doesn’t even know the names of some of the players they got this offseason. Poor Randy Foye.
Clippers owner Donald Sterling has an answer for everything, and he questions that - latimes.com
How is the Grizz owner an idiot? Guy sounds like a smart business man who saw bad investments and finally got a smart lawyer to read him the CBA. The idiot here seems to be the Host. After getting trashed in business talk, he went and tried to trash the Grizzlies themselves.
Cant front on those 90’s kendell gill, LJ, Mugsy, Zo, teams.
Too bad Zo was there for only 3 years before he went to SOUTH BEACH!!!
I’ll give you LJ though. I liked LJ. LJ was the man!
I love Mugsy, but c’mon son I’m taller than him.
Still that team peaked at 50 wins which is 6 less wins than their 07-08 team.
Oh and P.S the year where they had Kendell, LJ, Mugsy and Zo on the same team their record was

44-38.
He, these rankings are funny and JR Smith really took 6 3’s a game lol …
Cavs were good (I almost want to say “really good”) back in the early 90’s, they just had the misfortune of running into Michael Jordan in the playoffs every year.
Bucks have a championship, then again the league was smaller and they had Big O and Kareem (star power). They are on the up and up however, as are the Kings.
I bet you cringed when you wrote that part about Portland. In the Blazers’ defense, they have a pretty respectable history, and their only sports competition (Major League Soccer team) in town doesn’t even exist yet.
For some reason I want to consider Orlando a small market team, but don’t they also draw in viewers in Tampa?
I do notice that you excluded Oklahoma City. I can feel the butthurt through the computer, son.
OKC will win a title (or several) in the near future and the Durantula will win the MVP award. SEARCH YOUR FEELINGS, YOU KNOW IT TO BE TRUE!
I’ll echo what ckrazy said. Heisley would be whatever tier the Hulk is in in Marvel 2 (isn’t it considered Bottom tier?)…but Sterling? That dude is straight up Roll tier as an owner.
WHEN IS YOUR LEAGUE STARTING BACK UP AGAIN?!?
I need to defend my title and forget the horrible ass kicking I’ve received all season in the fantasy baseball league.
EDIT: Speaking of Portland, I just looked through a Sports Illustrated photo gallery on “NBA Players Eyeing Comebacks [from injury this upcoming season]” and three of them were Trail Blazers. Lothar, my heart goes out to you bro.
The Cavs were good, but c’mon their star was Mark Price. Mark Price is good, but he is white. C’mon didn’t you see Dirk try to win a title? What happened? Black man stole it that is what happened!
Bucks had pyramid guys on their teams. That like a 20 point handicap to start every game back in those days.
Yes it did hurt to talk about Portland, but I just think back to Sam Bowie and Greg Oden.
I am not butt hurt about OKC, I honestly forgot about them.
This isn’t the first time he has said this he said it right after game 7 at the presser. Ron has been going off on his ass on Twitter though.
Dirk got jobbed by the refs. Poor guy, since Dallas has only won ONE playoff series since losing 4 straight in the '06 Finals. Either way, Suns should have been there instead of them that year.
Yeah before Marcus Camby managed to stay healthy I thought Portland was just cursed at the Center position.
You can’t get much more small market than OKC, just look at this shirt the NBA Offseason blog created for them using the old Sonics logo.
Doesn’t matter point is we haven’t had a white man lead his team to a NBA title since 1986 (Larry Bird). The last guy before him was Bill Walton (77). Face it you need niggas in this sport!
So fuck your 90’s Cavs. :smokin:
OKC won’t be around much longer, sooner or later a tornado we destroy that entire city.
Damn. Starting up already? I’ll renew and send out invites soon.
usually the site isnt open till september i thought. they usually have a feature player, (durant, truth) but not this year.
I want in on some
I’m not doing yahoo fantasy anymore so you can give my spot to someone else.
