I believe in Pau Gasol. WAY too many Laker “fans” want him shipped for Josh Smith(Including Shinblanka lolz) I always figure if we never got him from Memphis back in 08(?) we would not have won a title in 09.
He’s playing out of position. And I hate to admit it, but the only time “twin towers” really worked without bogging down the offense was with Odom/Pau. I don’t have faith in Dwight and Pau working well in the anti-post system Mike D wants to play. My idea is having Pau play off the bench as CENTER, with Hill at 4 who has a jumper unlike Dwight.
Pau in Houston with Asik/Harden/Lin/Parsons would be scary.
The lakers in actuality don’t even have any realistic/big time trading options right now. Bad contracts all over, with no GM wanting to take back any kind of heavy salary nor the Lakers wanting to absorb any more salary. However, there are some options available that can give this team the boost it desperately needs:

Trade for Raja Bell - Lakers are already eyeing this one. Only makes sense, Raja has played in Pringles system and can still play solid perimeter D. He’s a crafty 3 point shooter who should be able to space the floor and can play the two or three. He hasn’t been happy with his role with the Jazz, and the Lakers can use this guy seeing how his contract is off the books this year.

Sign/Pick up Delonte West - Dallas let this guy go but he would be a huge upgrade over Steve Blake and Chris Duhon. They aren’t going to find any offers for both of those guys, so it makes no sense to shop them around. Waive/Buy Out one of their contracts and make room for him!

Get K-Mart, somehow - At first I thought this wasn’t really needed, but then the Lakers lack of toughness around glass has been bothering me lately. K-Mart won’t put up astronomical numbers, but he can still rebound and D up. With Jordan Hill though already doing this though it makes it tough for us to squeeze Martin in.

Bench Pau, Start Jordan Hill - Both play a similar style it’s just that Pau is the better passer and can hit the occasional 3, while Jordan his isn’t efficient at none of those. I wouldn’t be quick to do this just yet until Nash comes back, then we can see where it goes from there if Pau/Dwight still aren’t jelling.
This is how absurd Lakers fans are right now, a solution is benching Pau.

What’s with Lakers fans hitting the panic button after every loss? Talking about benching/trading Pau or trying to get more star players. The only way the Raptors can land a star player is if the league contracts the other 29 teams.
