It’d only be 1 less for the US, and that’s assuming a U-23 squad wouldn’t already dominate regardless. If this Olympics was U-23 they could still field a roster with Westbrook, Durant, Harden, Love, Davis, Griffin and Rose (if the latter two weren’t injured). The over 23 players would just be replaced by guys from the select team like Wall, Dejuan Blair, DMC, Favors, and Paul George.

Besides, the US media likes to go against the global norm and rank countries by the total medal count instead of by Gold medals. That way the US can finish ahead of China.

My allegiance has always been to the Heat. I’ve been a Hornets supporter since a few years after I started following the Heat in 97-98, because of the shared history of players between the franchises. I’ve always kept tabs on the teams I support. Just because I’m not always talking about them does not mean I do not pay attention to them. I’ve never supported the Knicks.

I’m actually curious to see how New Yorkers handle the transition to the Nets…like I assume New Yorkers will bandwagon on both teams like LA fans do, but which team will be the real one and which will be the Clippers? It’s pretty easy in LA because the Lakers have the history and the wins, but how will it work if the Nets win more than the Knicks? Which will be relegated to Clippers status? How angry will die hard Knicks fans get at bandwagon Brooklyn fans?

i will say tho that i like what bk is doing.

Thats how I sort of envisioned it…I don’t see a LAL/LAC thing where LAC is the perrenial joke of the sports world…I see more of a ‘when they do well, people will go to the games’, and I think there will be lots of bandwagon NYers, but I think ultimatly NYK will maintain s THE team cause of history and just how die hard the fans get.

Now I’m no NYer, only been there like twice my whole life - but thats my guess. I’m more curious about NJ though.
