lin and houston are trying to screw NY. the knicks have every right to be MIA on that bullshit contract switcheroo. two can play at that game. they screw us and we screw them.

hopefully the FO grows some balls and says fuck you to both lin and the houston rockets and we roll without him. f we look like paying that man that much in the third year and he’s not really proven and when he had his chance to really prove himself he didn’t play because he was “85%.” soft ass nigga.

if bron, wade, durant, westbrook, kobe, cp3, etc. i.e. the class that a lot of you and others in the media seemingly want to put him in were 85% are they sitting out with the season on the line?

NOPE.

the kid has heart but he’s about himself regardless of the outcome. so live with the outcome.

and

@ jason kidd.

I can’t wait until the Knicks get swept in the first round of next year playoffs.

Yea it is rough these days but not every superstar can have a championship team. Kevin Love gonna get the short end of the stick for a while unless he does do something. Their team is ok I suppose but not near championship quality.

its not gonna happen unless all but one starter and almost all backups are out due to torn ACL’s and whatever else, like last season. even then we won a game.

WHat are you talking about… They received it yesterday at 11:5 pm or today at 12:00 am do the deadline is end of day Tuesday.

they were avoiding receiving the contract before then…
basically to stall.

Wrong team. That is going to be us next year.

Bush league behavior is just pathetic for a franchise. Moving forward, business with New York might be looked at differently. It’s no secret certain organizations are only worked with as a final option due to immature front office, ownership and/or GM behavior.

New York should have just offered Lin a deal. Instead they waited for somebody else to make an offer and were confident they would match. Then as the stakes get raised, all the bragging of “we’ll match any offer” gets put under the magnifying lens.

I heard Dolan is catching feelings according to one article and feels “betrayed.” I’m thinking, “Betrayed?” This is an ugly business. When you don’t offer people deals and say you’ll match beforehand to scare teams into either not offering deals, or offering low deals because of having no hope to sign a guy, only later to have a team call your bluff with a high deal - that’s the nasty side of the business. Houston is calling the bluff and even if the Knicks match, welcome to luxury tax hell.

I believe there was an ESPN article earlier mentioning some of the hijinks mentioned in this article too. But if New York stopped playing games - good.

David Aldridge was saying in the third year that if the Knicks was at the 100 million salary mark, they would be paying 85 million in luxury taxes.

Due to having to match dollar for dollar cap penalties and the repeater tax, if that’s the case let his ass walk. Now it’s people criticizing Melo because he said Lin’s contract is ridiculous. That’s because It is, him getting 15 million in the third year is insane.

organizations already don’t respect the knicks. haven’t for a long, long time. its about time for the knicks to say fuck that.

fuck being played and taking it like we would as usual.

nobody was bragging, first off. all of those were rumors from “sources.”

please.

-lin’s own teammates were talking about lin’s ego being inflated.
-lin turned his back on us when our season was on the line.

WHO THE FUCK SITS OUT AT 85% WHEN THE SEASON IS ON THE LINE?

-turned down being on the usa select team for what? scared??

-told the rockets some shit he should have kept between him and the knicks
-rockets trying to screw us based off of the info he gave them

he wanted to work with them so work for them. he’s not built for ny.

Jason Kidd was arrested for a DWI in New York.

-The Knicks are now the second best team in New York City
-Atlanta is throwing away the 2012-2013 season

He couldn’t play. Get over it. He couldn’t be your savior in the playoffs and he isn’t now.

NY fans’ love/hate relationship is part of why he wants to leave.

You’re more of a cynic than I am. Even the worst off organizations can turn things around. Hell, I even believe the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Cleveland Browns (yes I said Browns) could improve their PR/respect factor. Isaiah is gone, they have some good players and if the higher ups play nice, I’m sure that image goes back to sparkling in no time.

Pretty much ESPN and Yahoo and other outlets had a quote, “The Knicks would match up to a billion dollars.” Total hyperbole contained in that quote but the implication was that Lin was worth so much money off the court in terms of TV deals, merchandise and what not that you would overpay to keep him. Worth it solely as a player? No way. Add in all that other stuff? Oh yes.

Basically Lin did a “poison pill” trick on NY. Since it is totally legal (unless a future CBA destroys it), he is squeezing every dollar out he can. All about the money? Sure. Dude’s been cut before and just wants to get paid.

Bosh sat out the end of the season in his last year in Toronto when the team was pushing for a playoff spot. He was 100% healthy but chose to sit out games because he already knew he was going to join Wade and James in Miami the following season.

You’re right. It turns out ESPN’s Marc Stein says a source told him that the Knicks have it. Stein is usually legit with his pipeline of info, so yeah.

Hornets should not have matched that offer on Gordon. Best case him and Rivers become Monta/Steph 2.0, which isn’t saying much because it didn’t last.

Damn I wish the Mavs would have gone after Lin.

lol @ he couldn’t play.

BULLSHIT.

look at bosh and wade.

he’s scared he’ll get exposed as an average pg with no left which is why he won’t play or say anything until he signs an inflated contract.

he didn’t do it in the playoffs tho for a team he supposedly wanted to be a part of with the season on the line.

Do you really believe the shit that comes out of your mouth?

Who the fuck is going to spend 15-20 years of their life playing basketball to have a .00001% chance of making the NBA to finally make it and be scared?

Yo shout outs to logic.
