Well it could end up being cap space I tried it and NO was over by 10.6 mil

I would bet the other owners went this shit isn’t happening, it was an obvious bullshit trade from the start.
"NBA owners have pushed commissioner David Stern to kill the deal sending Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Lakers, sources tell Y! Sports.
Owners were irate in Board of Governors meeting with Stern, livid that the league-owned Hornets were allowed to make Paul deal, sources say.
The NBA is now pushing New Orleans GM Dell Demps to pull the plug on the trade and keep Chris Paul."
even with chris paul, the lakers still had superstar coach mike brown to ruin the team
Kobe Bryant coach of the year.
Forgot to save the trade.
Well Stern is fucked either way here, let the trade go and the internet/media will go in with “nba controlled team helping the lakers out, rigged motherfuckers”, stop the trade and the internet/media will go in with “Stern has lost all control of the owners, he has to go NAOW.”
What is more rigged to you, a star player going to the yankees of basketball, or owners being able to stop trades at will because they don’t like it?
Maybe I’m just salty right now, I’ll sleep on this that’s for sure.
Yeah, trade balances only if Hornets send out Okafor or btoh of Ariza/Jack.
I still don’t get it from the Lakers’ perspective, that’s way too much to pay for one year of Chris Paul if there’s no extension involved. They were like one of the only five clubs that were serious title contenders, you don’t blow a team that’s going to be contending for a championship for years…for a team that will maybe now contend for championship this year only.
Okafor good for more depth, because you know it’s only a matter of time before Bynum’s knees blow up every year. But now there’s no big men left, you only have two centers, no power forwards, and no depth if either of them get hurt. Derrick Caracter just jumped to #1 on the PF depth chart for LA.
Who the fuck is Derrick Caracter!?!
And what assets do the Lakers have left now for another trade? Bynum…and picks. That’s it. No one else on that roster is worth anything. You think Orlando’s going to trade Dwight for Bynum/Blake/Luke Walton? Get outta here.
Rockets got maybe the second best center in the league after Dwight, arguably the best single piece of the trade (considering Gasol’s signed for three more years unlike Paul). Scola and Kevin Martin and a first seems like a lot to pay though.
Hornets make out with a ton of goodies in exchange for one year of Chris Paul. Well done, considering they were probably going to lose him for nothing next year anyway.
Actually the media and general internet(ie the sports websites) would not say shit about the rigged trade. They would just praise LA for being able to pull it off. And no one is going to say Stern should go now because the trade will be revoked. If anything Stern will look bad because he said a week ago Chris Paul will not be traded by NO because they are an NBA owned team and they indeed tried to trade him.
Real question is how will this affect Pau now that he knows for sure the Lakers want to get rid of him. When this happened in Memphis he kind of fell apart and started playing like shit. Won’t be long until the Lakers explode anyway with Mike Brown as coach. I still do not understand the decision to hire him.
I’ve already seen media for the NBA tweet about Stern’s apparent loss of power. Check John Hollinger’s twitter right now.
Now ESPN is reporting that the LAKERS are the ones getting out of it because they would NOT get Okafor and want to keep a big man if that’s the case
EDIT: OMG MY LAPTOP IS LOSING POWER AND I CANT FIND POWER CORD NOOOOOO
What in the fucking fuck just happened?!?!?!
i don’t get why the deal was killed. that’s some serious bullshit on a bunch if it’s because it’s a bunch of cry baby owners. the lakers lost pau and odom for god’s sake.
Of course ESPN is reporting that, lets be honest we all know this was killed by the owners.
wait so now the deal is dead? It would make sense for the lakers to get emeka, they lack size if gasol and odom go.
LOL. Like Odom is anything but a decent role player. Odom and Gason for the best/2nd best PG in the NBA is NOT a fair trade for the Hornats.
This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:
I vote that the thread title is now changed to “Lakers… YOU are defeated!”
This is fucking bullshit. So what if the Lakers try to get Howard? Are they gonna block the trade too? What if CP3 gets traded to the Knicks? That means they gotta block that trade too right. Fuck that shit.
Hornets would not get Gasol, Houston would. Hornets would get Odom, Scola and KMart and acouple first round picks.
