Why would there be a Plan B? What happened after the CP3 trade was agreed upon and finished was unprecedented. If they had X-Men psychic powers, they wouldn’t have gone in 100 meters of the NBA Hornets. If the FO is doing anything, they’re regrouping, just like the Rockets and Hornets who fell off a cliff.

He’s a defensive coach with defensive roots and so the Lakers are (kind of) good at defense. Maybe if Shaw stuck around as an assistant we’d see more on offense than ‘try to pass the ball to Kobe/Bynum/Gasol and cross your fingers and toes’ and ‘tear up a bunch of pieces of paper, write down your rotation players, and throw them in a glass bowl.’

I was talking about a smaller move not a major one, coming into the season it was already known that we need a starting SF, starting PG, and bench help.

Kapono, Murphy, or Mcroberts didn’t address any of the issues we had besides outside shooting and they have been terrible.

Yeah the CP3 trade did kill us but at that point I think Delonte West was still available and he’s better than what we have.

Jim didn’t want anything related to Phil so the Shaw thing wasn’t going to happen.

When you get fucked like that it’s probably better to look at every option instead of making a knee-jerk decision. Something’s going to happen by the trade deadline but there’s no reason to expect fireworks. They at least forced their hand-- Lakers want a PG and they want to cut salary/avoid paying the new CBA tax.

And honestly, LA doesn’t need a band-aid. Steve Blake was a band-aid. I don’t think a smaller move will solve their problems or yield better results than getting their asses whupped by the Hornets/Mavs.

Amare can only help Lin. Lin should have double digit assists every game with the passes he’s making, only he’s making those passes to Jared Jeffries and Billy Walker, guys who aren’t very good at finishing at the rim. I could go through each game and point out 5-6 times Lin got screwed out of an assist because of a teammate not being able to hit a wide open shot or layup.

Amare is one of the best pick and roll players in the league, and was putting up MVP type numbers when Felton was running things early last year. It’s Melo I’m a little worried about. He’s a bit of a black hole when it comes to holding the ball. Hopefully he won’t try to play point forward like he’s been trying to all year. He was trying to be Lebron early this season, and it was not working.
