Official 'Kitty' class boards thread

That’s weird, but I experience the same thing. I saw weird because the either the dpad or left stick work via first part pad. Hmm. But yes, that appears normal.

Having another issue besides psx/2 support not working
Te kitty board seems to be working fine, but after the cable was accidentally kicked out of the xbox360 the 360 no longer recognizes the stick being plugged in. The computer sees the tekitty board fine and works great. I put the stick into te 360 mode and the guide lights flash continuously and a bit erratically. Windows sees the stick fine all buttons light up but no axis movement. Any ideas?

Edit
When it was working on 360 i noticed button lag, now in windows on te360 mode you can see the button lag bad on the computer, tekitty mode there is no button lag.

Heya Toodles, just finished my TE-S mod. I got everything good after only 4 hrs! my fingers feel like rocks. In the guide it says my stick should register as upper left light, but it doesnt have any. Testing the stick everything else seems fine. My comp sometimes does have a problem with recognizing the board. Just postin here in case its a known thing or someone else has that happen to em. Awesome stuff, waitin for a ps3 to come by to test that. PC and xbox works. Thanks again!

hey toodles, is it possible for you to release a firmware for the vlx kitty, to have the xbox buttons actually correspond to their respective ps3 buttons? for example B=O instead of B=Square?

Open it up and see what got knocked loose.

Dont sweat it if its working.

Kitty user’s guide has a great section on button remapping.

Just installed a VLX Kitty. Great stuff, Toodles!

Haha…I noticed that typo too and was going to point it out. It is indeed the top left and lower right LEDs that are supposed to be lit up in that mode.

Just finished installing the Kitty in my TE stick and it works great on both systems. I did, however, notice that the joystick only works on the 360 if the switch is on the DP setting. Is this normal? I rechecked all the wiring, etc and it appears to be fine. Thanks again, Toodles!

40 days to arrive and 40 minutes to do a very easy install and have everything working fine. Thank you Toodles. =)

I got my TE Kitty and it seemed installed fine based on the guide, but I got to the end of step 12 and came across a problem. Everything on my computer shows up right, all the button presses give me a lit LED, but there is no upper left LED on. The upper left and lower right LEDs came on earlier so I’m not sure why not now. What did I do wrong? I’m guessing it’s one of the USB wires but putting the USB wires into the screw terminal was a pain in the butt for me so I don’t want to redo any more than I have to.

Yes.

Just to be clear, it didn’t take 40 days to arrive after ordering from me

When you move the joystick around (not on a 360, but on a PC or PS3), you should see the Guide lights moving to match the stick. Is that correct?

Yep, works fine.

EDIT: I just plugged it into a ps3 to see if it would work. It appears to work just fine after switching the top setting to DP. I hope that part of the test is just something I can ignore.

Just want to mention that in Puzzle Fighter on PS3, it too doesn’t work unless the stick is set to LS.

I bought from you, but the delay in delivery is caused by the customs, it takes too long to release international orders. Unfortunately, we Brazilians are accustomed to this situation. = \

Hey Toodles will TE kitty kit work on the soon to be released MadCatz Soul Cal. V Soul Edition arcade stick, it looks like a TE-s model so it would it work. Thanks

I havent gotten confirmation on what PCB it’s running. I do expect it to be a TE-S board, so a TE Kitty and TE-S harness should do it, but it’d be best to wait until we get confirmation on that.

Toodles, I finally received my order and installed the kitty to my round 2 TE. However Im having a problem. everything seems to be working properly on Ps3 and Pc( i tested LS/DP/RS no prob) but on xbox the directional joystick DOWN does not work. Buttons are all good and joystick direction left,up, and right works except down. I opened it again to make sure all the wires are properly connected but the problem still occurs. please help and thank you

First thing would be to verify it happens on the PC as well. Move slider to RS, hold down Turbo, and plug it into a PC. After the player 1 LED stops figiting, go into the game controller’s applet of the control panel, and go into the stick properties (make sure it says MadCatz blah blah and NOT TE Kitty). Move the slider back to DP, and move the stick around. The main thing I’m worried about is seeing if the stick thinks down is always pressed, or never pressed.

Im betting its never pressed; the directions stay at neutral when you press down. If so, check the five pin ribbon cable connecting the Kitty to the main TE board. See if anything looks odd on either end; that would seal the deal, but I think no matter what you’re probably going to need a replacement 5 pin ribbon. Check it out in case you can spot the problem and make it work, and if you can’t, send me a PM with your order details (paypal email address, zipcode, where you ordered it from) and I’ll get a replacement out in the mail to you.

Just experienced a noob moment…
For anyone that owns a TE AND VLX Kitties, make sure you flash the correct firmware onto the right board. I spent over an hour flashing and flashing until I noticed the path of the firmware I was using, and it was the wrong one all along.
It worked fine after that, no harm done.

Be careful out there guys and get plenty of sleep before modding!

Had my TE-Kitty waiting for me at work today. Thanks again Toodles for the fast and prompt service.

BTW - awesome “warranty voided” sticker.

yo, any word on if I need the TE-S harness if I get one of the MLG sticks? it’s got a TE body, but it’s a post-TE-S model, so I’m not sure what PCB it’s running.
