Toodles, let me apologize up-front if I’m wasting your time with this. I know Lizard Lick is just a company that stocks your parts and that you don’t really have an official affiliation with them.

That being said, would you know what’s up with them listing TE Kitty PCBs as Out Of Stock? Previously in the week, they were listed as being available for pre-order. Would you know if it’s just a temporary thing until they get stock from you? I’d just buy the Kitties directly from you except there’s some parts that I and some other Dallas guys need from Lizard Lick, so were going to make a group order and save a bit on shipping.

Again, sorry to bother you with this. It’s just I’ve contacted Lizard Lick several times and they haven’t said anything back.

This may sound like an attempt to upsell, and I guess technically it is, but I really want to recommend that folks getting a TE Kitty also pick up a JLF-TE cable as well. Old hands at this will know why, but the short of it is that the joystick cable in the TE and SE doesn’t use the proper connector, and is insecure once the glue is broken. Yes, they had to use glue to hold it on. If you pick up a JLF-TE, you can replace that crap part with the proper connector so it’ll never fall off. Optional, sure, but highly recommended.

If I simply wanted to take my X360 TE stick and make it usable for PS3 and 360, is the TE Kitty board the most elegant solution? Also, if I purchase one off of your Godlike Controls website, do I need to notify you in this thread as well?

Further vouching for the JLF-TE. A friend’s modded SE was originally passed around like (use your imagination) among some friends of ours, eventually ending up with him, having intermittent issues with the directions (hence why its then-owner gave up on it). We had used rubber bands and tape before to sort of hold the connector in place, but it still would mess up here and there. When we got the JLF-TE from Lizard Lick that all went away.

On my TEs and the ones I’ll be modding with Kitty PCBs, I plan to remove the restrictor plate and set it aside, and leave the microswitches still connected to the connector. A bit more hassle, but if you don’t want to buy a JLF-TE right now it’s the only way to guarantee that your connection will still be solid (well, as solid as it comes from the factory).

  1. Damn, you had to use the word ‘elegant’, didn’t you? :slight_smile: IMHO, a TEasy is more elegant than a Kitty, and adds PS3 to your stick. Cost is the same, installation is a hair easier with the TEasy. I like the PS3 support in the Kitty better than the PS3 support in the TEasy, especially with the Turbo functionality working the same as the 360 mode, the proper use of the LS/DP/RS slider, and LED light up goodness. Im sure you were looking for a ‘god yes buy my stuff’, but that isn’t me. For what you describe, TEasy and TE Kitty are your two big options, and they’re awful close if you dont consider the additional consoles supported by the Kitty. I dont think you’d go wrong with either choice.
