Official 'Kitty' class boards thread

  Thank you.

Will order one for my own.

This is awesome, Toodles!
A ChimpMcwidget, or a Kitty that meows. Iā€™d take a kitty over a fantasy creature with new LED features!

How many variants of the Kitty are you planning? Any chance of one for the VX HRAPs?

I play PS3 exclusively but I want one just for the turbo LED button press thingy. Pretty shallow but thatā€™s cool for me. Oh and the on-the-fly button remapping.

Any chnace these can be made to be installed on PS3 versions? Not sure of this since it wasnā€™t mentioned.

Awesomesauce Toodles. Keep up the awesome work.
Easy installation with MC Cthulhu capabilities That combo is a win. Wait, Auto detect too? Fantastic!!!

Unfortunately I do not have a TE or a VLX to test on at this time.

Nghhhā€¦ only just seen this thread, so Toodles - please disregard my last PM.

Iā€™ll send you a more relevant message when Iā€™m back on a computer tonight.

Holy crap. Multiconsoling a TE just got insanely easy. Need to read in depth and see how button LEDs using KNserts or arc eyes would be affected by the new board, but this is extremely awesome news. Almost makes me want a 360 TE to try this

That is mint.

I would definitely make one for the new VX HRAPs, and even though it may sound silly, the Fighting Stick VX. Love that little beast. No ETA on these though; I have no idea how long, if ever, until they would be available.

Not by itself. Youā€™d have to get the LED panel from a 360 stick and the three ribbon cables that go to it. If you got ahold of that, maybe from someone putting a full plexi top into theirs, then you could do it.

Iā€™d like to get a 360 TE and test one of these out. Send me a PM with cost info and Iā€™ll get back to you asap please.

Even on a PS3 TE? Sorry i didnā€™t mention that the first time.

Ive had a kitty in my VLX for a few months and can say it is a fantastic product. 5 minutes to install and works on all consoles as promised. Toodles has done it again!

For some reason my buttons and joystick do not work when hooked up. When holding down the guide button during plug-in I am getting the boot-loader message. (Top left, bottom right LEDā€™s)

Holy Crap! Iā€™m glad I procrastinated so long on modding my VLX! This sounds like a snap. I will be ordering one of these soon.

Me too, Still gotta have gummowned mod my other and fix one of my Flash1ā€™s

You may want to grab the VLX firmware as well; IIRC, yours doesnā€™t have the Guide LED fun, turbo, or button remapping.
(metal note: add info on remapping to first post)

Well its good youā€™re getting the lights for bootloader, that means your 7 pin ribbons are all connected properly. Next step would be to verify the bootloader works on the PC which would test the outgoing USB cable connection.
Iā€™ve just put up the VLX Kitty firmware and flashing program, linked in the first post. Plug it in with Guide held down for bootloader mode and run the .bat file included. Let me know how it goes and weā€™ll go from there.

Will do, gotta get someone over here with a windows machine.

New firmware installed. Guide led is awesome!

Toodles, does the kitty work by itself? I want to build a custom hitbox for ps3 and wii (donā€™t need 360). Is it better to use the MC Cthulhu? The kittyā€™s built in rj45 would be nice.

Well, maybe, maybe not. The Kittys use a new firmware, and the client source code is ported to Unices and Mac as well.
Open source bootloader for Microchip PIC USB Microcontroller.
The thing is though, I had to modify the fw_update program to take advantage of the larger space on the chips. Those changes were in two source code files, located in this zip:
www.godlikecontrols.com/download/kitty/fw_update_changes.zip

If you would like a native bootloader program for whatever system you have, you can compile your own by grabbing the diolan tarball, and extracting the zip to overwrite the two files in the fw_update directory. Make, run the executable with the command line switches you see in the batch file. If you do do all of this, Iā€™d be happy to include it in the future releases for everyone.

Kitty does work by itself, but I think youā€™d be better off with an MC. Itā€™s cheaper and made for custom sticks, unlike a Kitty.

I know its silly, but I love that part too. I could do other tricks like ā€˜spinnersā€™ but I dont know if itd be worth the hassle.
