What happened to universal mounting plate love? Neither the HRAP V nor this can accommodate an LS-32. Makes me love my HRAP3 more.
Are you sure there arenât any hidden holes under the JLF plate for mounting an LS-32?
the blog says that you can switch to your âfavoriteâ joystick. So Iâm assuming it can mount ls - 32 as well.
Always preferred the neater, ribbon cable-like, wiring harness used in the TE.
First thing I did on my HRAP3 when I opened it up was tie that shit down with twist ties.
You can clearly see a third unused hole under the mounting plate. Dunno if thatâll fit one for the LS-32 though.
Iâm going to test/try these out next week.
Should be fun!
Lucky! Make sure to let us know what you think. Also, any news
on pre-orders?
Looks to be a quality stick. I would imagine that you get what you pay for here, itâs just not in everyoneâs willpower or budget. Iâd rather pay for a yearâs worth of car insurance or maybe a PS3 and some games if Iâm thinking outside of frugal necessity. I could also argue that necessity is the mother of invention, which leads to the likes of expensive joysticks.
I know for a fact that I can make an MC dual modded 2p with sanwa or seimitsu junk for less, but I guess it depends on how much money you make. I know I donât make enough to pay the price. For the amount of time that it would take me to build a 2p, and cost of materials/ parts, I couldnât put the same time in at work and do better buying one = DIY for me.
I understand that there is some level of fascination with the vewlix arcade stuff, being a testament to quality, etc., but in my opinion, custom is always the king because of potential. Ideally, with a cutom work of any kind, it suits the individual better than standard/ general production.
Iâm not a stick collector, so I donât have the bug that a lot of folks here do, but I would be a little dissapointed in myself if I had even $400 in a custom dual stick to use on everything. Thatâs just me though and Iâm almost certain that I spend that kind of money on things that a lot of people here (and elsewhere) would scoff at.
Hobby junkies are all the same, itâs just a matter of picking your poison.
I still donât understand the decision to change the graphic around the joystick from the real deal.
Well why doesnât it say Vewlix on the top left corner? Why does it most likely say licensed by hori on the bottom right? All aesthetically stupid choices, but I would assume it was part of the deal they made in order to make the stick a reality.
dam they should let u buy 1 early
I guess so, if thats the case like I said before you can get the 2 panel real deal for less. Well you can get the panel and joysticks etc. Your not getting an enclosure or PCB but you get the point.
I talked to a company that could get the overlay for the 1p but they said Taito doesnt sell the 2p. I wonder if they sell the entire control panel separate. That would be awesome.
Just the overlay not the whole cp? I think the 1p would be the only one that would work. Never seen a vewlix in person so it is hard to tell just from internet images, but it seems that on a 2p panel the start buttons are placed higher than on a 1p ( http://s205.photobucket.com/albums/bb300/tmogaming/Vewlix/?action=view¤t=Vewlixprogressphotos.jpg ) . The VLX looks to have the start button a bit lower like a 1p panel. So if you got a 1p overlay it still wouldnât say vewlix, and probably wouldnât fit the taito part on the upper left (if you could find/like the black vewlix overlay that would prob work too).
What company were you talking to about getting a 2p?
btw was looking at the vlx prototype and noticed it has the 4 missing dots around the stick circle. http://g-bri.com/modules/news/wp-content/uploads/017(1).jpg
Really kinda odd they took it out for the final version seeing as the prototype already had the other differences from a normal vewlix panel.
looking at a larger pic: http://g-bri.com/modules/news/wp-content/uploads/017(1).jpg
you can see there are also dots over the bolts for the turbo boxâŚI am sure the stick still has the same mounting bolts for the stick why would they take the dots off? MarkMan if you see this in person this week could you ask why this was changed?
And you can also see it says licensed by taito in the lower right. Wasnât sure if it was hori or taito.
Thats what im saying, they changed the graphic.
Just assumed that neither the prototype or the official model had itâŚmakes a lot less sense seeing the former had it.
You still crying about that? Who gives a shit. Itâs not a Vewlix panel replica, so who really cares?!?
I do.
Its not? Its officially licensed by taito.
spending all that money i hope some 1 would care
