Official HORI RAP Premium VLX (VEWLIX) - VX (360); V3 (PS3) - Arcade Stick Thread

http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/9310/vlxp3ledboard.jpg

I finally got my PS360+ in this week to replace the original PS360 I already had in my PS3 VLX Premium. There is no Turbo on the PS360+, but here’s some help to share for the rest of that mini board.
A - LED1
B - LED2
C - LED3
D - LED4
E - Home/Guide
F - Select/Back
G - N/A *Turbo on PS360
H - GND
I,J,K - N/A
L - VCC (from LED harness for PS360+ (Thanks to Focus Attack support for figuring this out for me)

I was able to find male connectors for each of the different harnesses when I modded it the first time around with the PS360 so I could just solder right onto those instead of snipping anything or making any permanent changes to the original wires.

Sorry, I don’t know about swapping in a Hori PCB for a 360 version.

That’s really good to know. I was about to mod my vlx diamond with PS360+, and I was also wondering about LED connection. So, you mean that LED works perfectly with PS360+ with following your pinout and connecting them to PS360+? Just to make sure that the daughter PCB of vlx is not burned. Thanks for sharing!

Very cool. Thank you! Finding some proper connectors is a good idea.

Yeah, the LED’s work just like they did with the OEM. Made me happy when I tested it out. That and PS2/DC compatibility were the main/only factors for me to upgrade from the original PS360.

Need help with HORI RAP VLX I think the little control box inside burnt out or there is a short in my USB cable, I have not modded my stick in anyway but with in the last year my controller has gone from bugging out every now and again to not working at all. basically what I need is the information to fix this problem. I can provide more details to anyone who can help

Hi, I just ordered a VLX Diamond and need to get it modded for Xbox use. Can I just get something clarified (yep, I’m a total mod noob!); Does the PS360+ unit replace or sit along side the original Hori/PS3 PCB? And once it’s installed there’s no turbo function even on a PS3?

Also, is the original PCB in the VLX a common/shared component with other Hori stick like the VX-SA? If so, would it not be possible to just get hold of another/cheaper stick and just swap the Xbox parts into a VLX Diamond so it looks pretty much standard?

Slightly mad question perhaps but, if I can, I’d rather keep the stick to appear as original as poss, which I’m sure some can appeciate! Other than the messy wiring which I’m having swapped out for nice, blue, braided jobbies whatever route I choose to go down. I’ll post pics when it’s done in a few weeks anyway for those interested in seeing how it looks.

The PS360+ replaces the original PCB, and it does not have Turbo. What you do get are up to 8 buttons, joystick, start, select/back and home/guide and the ability to use it across PS3/PS2/PS1, DC, PC, XBOX360/XBOX with the proper cables. I never use Turbo, so I don’t mind losing that function in return for a arcade stick to play on (most of) them all.

Are you looking for a dual-mod or just converting it for use solely on 360 (or did you mean the original Xbox)? I believe there are a few solutions depending on what you want.

Does it register when you connect to a PC? If not, it might require a multimeter to test if it’s due to the cable or PCB itself. Hopefully other members have other troubleshooting steps.

Could you fix the pic bro? Although my F5 key broken down the pic never showed…

Sorry, I haven’t been on in a while.
Are you saying the link is broken?

It’s still showing up for me.

I’d like to help but it’s hard to map from those pictures. They way I found out what each of the pins on mine were was by using a multimeter, which you can find a basic one at a place like Radio Shack for around $20. With the daughter board installed, touch one probe to the ground pin (pin H on the PS3 version) and the other to the pin you’re looking at. Press a button at a time until you hear the buzz and bingo.

Finally finished installing MC Cthulu, 360 board and Peewii

I just wanted to thank you so much for these pinouts. It made my work a lot easier.

Just made a video of my modified VLX.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I’m in process of transitioning from xbox360 to PS3 as BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma is a PS3 exclusive. I’ve already gotten a Fighting EDGE for PS3 and need a second high quality arcade stick.
I prefer to have something that looks different so it’s easier to differentiate between 1P and 2P controllers, so I am really interested in this arcade stick.

Before going ahead with the purchase, I did some background research and found on amazon.jp reviews and some other japanese websites that state the PS3 VLX has input lag problems. Is this true? can any one testify or debunk?

Cheers.

Never heard of lag issues for these beasts but that’s just me.
