Exactly, I’ll tighten my belt for a month if it means scoring one or two of these bad boys. Once you stomach the fact that you are paying for a ‘limited edition’ it’s really not so bad… before shipping anyway. I’ll just sell all my other sticks :].
does play asia take paypal? just wondering
this comes out 4 days after my birthday lol
I believe they do.
They do.
The status “Preorders opening soon” is on play-asia.com and akihabarashop.jp since the stick was on the site. But now it’s almost March 28th.
I guess i would be around $550 including shipping to US. too expensive
im sure this stick is great but for the price its looking to plasticky for my likings (the black parts anyways), cmon markman give us that review!.
That’s pretty damn expensive.
It’s HUGE.
But, expensive.
What makes it cost 2x the TE?
And who needs to carry around extra buttons?
Can we stop having people bump this thread to complain about the fucking price. Keep thinking someone is going to post that preorders are up, but nope just another person saying it is too expensive.
Am I the only one that thinks this thing looks nasty?? Looks way more plasticky than previous HRAP’s which probably had the best cases around, high quality plastic with metal.
Hey I’m asking a question here, asshole.
People who feel they have the need to carry around extra buttons are the people who carry around extra buttons. Question answered?
Wasn’t sure asking why it is more than the TE is a serious question. To me it is pretty clear why it costs more.
My post wasn’t directed only at you.
Look at 1/2 to 2/3 of the posts in this thread. There are almost more people complaining about the stick than actually talking about getting one. What happened to all the people saying to just buy a real 2p panel (jhferry np with you obviously)? It is only gonna cost $450 to get it shipped. Still need the case and pcb. You gonna toss that panel in a pos budget case? Have pm’d the only builders on here I thought could do it justice and I got back $300-580 for the case(no pcb still). So sure, $330 or whatever is so outrageous when you are looking at upwards of $750-$1000 for a custom. Get real. If people want a case that is as close as you can get to a vewlix cab this is it, and it isn’t a ripoff.
+1
I will buy this stick. I think that the price is really high but it’s not like you can buy this kind of sticks everyday. For me, is the first stick since the hss130 that really looks like an arcade panel, so for me worths the money.
I like that idea of a “maintenance area”. Feels classy.
I am sitting on some money for this stick. I’m from UK and I fear that I won’t be able to import this stick for less than 300 GBP Should I expect to pay over 300? I don’t really want to pay more than 250 to be honest
The look of the stick gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. Reminds me of my time in Tokyo where I played SFIV before it hit the consoles.
i check play-asia everyday for the pre-orders(like many of you) I just want to give Hori my money but there taking forever, I hope Play-Asia are still getting it.
My only issue with it at this point is the slight change in Art and that I cannot get it domestic. I wonder though if these sell like crazy if they will have a domestic release. I mean they had to be paying attention to Madcatz. This stick @ $250 would sell like crazy here. The real vewlix as you know isnt as check as I thought it was, espcially if you have to build the box. Unless I can get the panel and sticker I have pretty much given up in that one however that isnt really comparing apples to apples. If you are going to compare this to a 1p vewlix, which there are many more options then its a lot closer depending on if you can build the case and hack the PCBs yourself. I can hack the PCBs but I need a router for the box. When you add all that together (plus time) then this stick is worth it to many Im sure.
Look, its a nice stick it just isnt a vewlix.
It isn’t a Vewlix in the sense that hasn’t been gutted from an actual Vewlix cabinet, but I like the idea that Hori and Taito have banged heads and produced what looks like a nice compact, slice of the Vewlix’s control panel and refined it into a controller for console players. That’s what I like to think anyway
Do Taito actually get their mits grubby in these Hori sticks or do they just allow Hori to use the Taito logo and Vewlix art?
I don’t know for sure, but seems that only Hori actually works in the stick.
Most likely they have to approve the design, though I don’t think they actually do anything in terms of helping design the thing.
