Hearing the news about MvC3 makes me hope they decide to keep it in 2D. If 3D is an issue for Darkstalkers, then just go back to sprites or use HD artwork, please.
Honestly a series as wacky and non serious as Darkstalkers is best kept 2D.

I really hope we can get them to reconsider. Ono’s such a cool guy, and is so passionate about doing Darkstalkers, it must purely be about potential sales (or lack of) and not about his ability to pull it off (he gave us SF4, ffs. That’s got to be worth something) that’s preventing the green light. [media=youtube]M5Yp7LFkdwM"[/media], he did recommend people petition Capcom to do it.

Signed though. Even if the game sucks (which I think it’ll be at least fun to play even if it’s not tourney-friendly) you can always go back to VS. That said, I question how much of a splash this’ll make outside of Japan unless it looks SUPER tight graphics-wise to appeal to casual folk.

IMO, the challenge of bringing something like Darkstalkers to 3D is something that needs to be undertaken to move the medium forward.
