I’m pretty certain he said it would use it’s own engine because of how different it is to Street Fighter, plus how goofy and crazy the action gets.
And then of course, there’s Demitri’s infamous Midnight Bliss where everyone is feminised. I really hope they keep everything that was in Savior in the new game, I’ll be pretty disappointed with any censorship of any kind. Just go all out Capcom, keep the insanity of Vampire Savior and add in even more crazy stuff.
They’re going to need a new engine if they’re going to translate all of this craziness into 3D models. I think Sasquatch is going to end up looking the best out of everyone in 3D, I just see a lot of potential in him because of his sprites.
The only likeness to SFIV I can see happening is the art style, he said they will probably go for something similar in another interview. The best example we have of that right now is the cover art for the Vampire Collection which was done by Ikeno that was only released in Japan.

If the game ends up looking like that I would be completely ok with it, I think Ikeno’s style does a better job on Darkstalkers than Street Fighter.
Another thing is how fast paced the game is and how satisfying chain linking into combos can be. If they nerf or remove those gameplay traits it just won’t feel like Darkstalkers to me. Those two essential elements are part of the reason Vampire Savior is so addicting. Obviously there is going to be some simplifying and streamlining to make the game more approachable for new players, I just really hope they go about it a way that doesn’t counter balance what I love about VS.

Personally I never cared for Miss Slutty Tits until Savior with the Lilith stuff. Now, she upgraded a little above meh for me because of Lilith.
Felicia is even worse. She could have been as stylish as Batman’s Catwoman. Instead we get the equivalent of a Hollywood airhead. >_<

Darkstalkers is a series with an awesome male cast.
Demitri, Raptor, Bishamon, Jedah, Talbain, Sasquatch and Victor are all badasses. Even Rikuo, who is more feminine in comparison, is still a badass and a great character too.
My first pick ever in Darkstalkers 1 was Sasquatch. That lovely furball got my attention and he remains a main in Savior along with Bishamon.
So no, not everybody is gaga for Morrigan and Felicia. :razzy:
