I’m thinking Zero/Ammy/Hawkeye just isn’t going to work for me and I’m thinking Hawk may be the one I drop. Even though I can almost never use the Cold Star assist for extra combo damage (that stupid 1st shot) it works wonders for me with Zero and mix ups. But I agree with you on the lack of damage and it becomes a big factor. We both have one touch kill people one point being Zero and Spencer and that’s it for damage output really it’s going to take 2 well executed combos from either character w/ assists and 2-3 bars to kill anyone . I did learn some fun Hawkeye stuff and think I may start a team off of him on point.
Q1: Zero/Ammy/______ or should it be Zero/______/Ammy(this ruins THC though). Dante? Him and Zero are BFFs but it’s almost cliche at this point.
Q2: Hawk/Dante/______? Or maybe not Dante but he adds a ton to Hawk’s combo potential. Trying to think of characters that compliment Hawk, anyone have good DHC with him and gimlet.
Q1: You can stick taskmaster in the back or doom in the middle and have yourself and extremely effective team without losing the awesome THC in either case.
Q2: Akuma, hawk/dante/akuma is an amazing team imo because every pair has good synergy. Hawk/dante is cool, jam session helps cover space and dante can combo off gimlet for good damage. Plus if you play it backwards, dante gets a lotta mileage out of greyhound while he can play battery role for hawkeye allowing him to come in with numerous gimlets stocked. Dante/akuma is pretty much ol reliable, but akuma/dante isn’t half bad either, jam session keeps akuma’s dragon punches safe and even allows him to combo off it in the corner. Finally hawk/akuma is pretty effective as well, good horizontal coverage, pushback and hawkeye should be able to get like 4-500k off a connected tatsu.
But yea, personally Im still torn, might just stick with it since damage isn’t everything(clockw0rk wins with ammy/strider, a pairing that does even less damage).
I’m going to make a Ghost Rider team, but the problem is I have no idea which characters Ghost Rider has good synergy with, and I was wondering if anyone can help me with this. Thanks in advance.
Hey guys, I’m new to UMVC, still just trying to dial all my BnBs in praccy mode for the most part, but the team that I’m pretty set on at this point is Nova (??)/Logan (??)/Akuma (Tatsu?)
I’m getting the hang of nailing BnBs that are getting a little longer and getting DHC synergy going as well as understanding how to OTG properly, and I feel as though if I were given an idea as to where to start I could start adding some proper assisting to my combos, but I’m not really sure where to start as far as my team is concerned, or if it can even really work. These are just the guys I’ve enjoyed the style of most, and I’m aware of the formerly extremely popular Logan/Tatskuma synergy hence why I’m assuming that would be the most solid assist to help me get in with Logan. I’m not really sure where to start with the other assists though and am wondering if anyone could give me feedback regarding that, as well as any other tips to help me get competitive into this game, likely maining this team.

We all are aware of top tier characters, but who are the worst characters to use in this game? The ones you would stay away from at all costs?

Alright, so I just decided that I wanted to become competitive in Marvel. I know how a team should be setup, and I’m familiar with all the strategies of the characters.
I really want to run a team with either Trish, Rocket Racoon or Storm, I’ve currently been running Trish (Low Voltage)/Rocket Raccoon (Pendulum)/Dr. Doom (Hidden Missiles) but I don’t think Doom helps either of them all that much, and they don’t seem to help each other. I’ve mainly been running the team because Trish+Rocket Raccoon have a piss easy unblockable setup that ToD’s everyone. I’d like to continue running that team just for that purpose, but I’m having trouble adding a good anchor that can help them both.
I don’t need an OTG assist, because I’ll be getting a lot of mileage off of the unblockable setup, if RR dies, then I’m okay with settling for 600K combos. Trish’s Low Voltage seems to do okay for RR, but it doesn’t give the lockdown that I need. So I was thinking of adding in either Akuma, Ammy or Dante for their lockdown. But the problem is, I’m not very fond of Dante or Akuma. And Ammy doesn’t fit well as an anchor.
So I wanted to try out Storm as my anchor, but her lockdown assist (Double Typhoon) doesn’t work very well because it’s so slow. But she does very well as an anchor. But even better with another lockdown assist of her own.
After playing around with Rocket Raccoon (Pendulum)/Storm (Whirlwind)/Dr. Doom (Hidden Missiles) I decided I like that team a lot, though I still feel as if I could find a better fit.
Do you guys have any suggestions for a good team setup using Trish, Storm, Rocket Racoon and Doctor Doom? (It doesn’t have to be all of them, just one of them)

Of all the characters you listed, Akuma is easily the best anchor, with Ammy as a close second. Doom and Dante can both function as anchor if they have to, and they have the best sets of assists in the game. RR and Storm are OK with XF3, but they do piss poor damage once it runs out.
Side note: Hidden Missiles help everyone. This is a fact. Some assists are better for certain characters, but Missiles are good for EVERY character.

i no this team has no health… but because everyone can die in a combo… i don’t think it matters… also they all are superb anchors if phoenix dies… strider helps keepaway with firebrand… firebrand controls the sky… strider controls the ground… phoenix cleans up… also i have my own unblockable setup… with firebrand only…its just as unreliable as the others but its easier to set up plus i can get a whole bar off of it… strider right now is just acting as the assist he doesn’t build great bar like firebrand but he does enough… but im working to get better with him… phoenix is my best… this team is all about resets and not getting hit… which is very easy to do considering the health issues…

Hey gang. Narrowed down a team I’m working with and was looking for some suggestions on point characters. My team is (Somebody)/Taskmaster/Amaterasu. My point character will have task arrows and cold star backing them up so you can see im going for an agressive point character. I’m told chars with good High-Low mmixups benefit from coldstar very well. I was kind of wondering if X-23 would be good in this setup? Taking any an all opinions thanks guys!
Just curious about people’s thoughts for a Magneto/Storm/Ammy team. I’m thinking of trying this combination out in place of Fanatiq’s version so that I have a stronger anchor character.
Or do you think that trying X-23/Storm/Ammy would be better?
sooo… even better suggestion… Firebrand(Swoop)/Chris(Punch)/Phoenix… firebrand and chris set up inescapable unblockable… Chris has more health than strider so team doesn’t die so fast… just no neutral assist… not that firebrand needs one anyway… they both build great bar… Chris is an okay anchor… i guess if phoenix dies…
Hey folks. I’m diving back in to UMvC3. I’m a big fan of Super-Skrull and his playstyle, despite his faults (like being a crazy, crazy meter devourer), and recently discovered through a little research and practice that he works pretty well with Sentinel, which is just fine by me - I like the big dude.
So that leaves me with XXX/Skrull/Sentinel.
Now, I need a point character that’ll work with Skrull - basically someone who will feed him a truckload of meter and (hopefully) DHC into him. I’ve always used Skrull as a second character because of his meter requirements - I don’t like him as anchor much because XF3 shenanigans aside, Drones have served me really well when it comes to setting up elastic slams, especially when snapping people in/out.
My questions then are:
If I go with XXX/Skrull/Sentinel, what point character would you recommend that works as a good, strong battery character who’ll work well with Skrull, especially in a DHC capacity?
If you don’t think XXX/Skrull/Sentinel is a good order, I’m willing to be more flexible in this regard. It’d take some getting used to but I’d happily do it to up my game. I know Sentinel has some terrible match-ups in the anchor spot, so things like XXX/Sentinel/Skrull or Skrull/Sentinel/XXX I’m open for consideration too.
Also if you recommend different assists, I’m all ears!

Point-Dormmamu, (Properly spelled name wrong,Good start!) I loved him in vanilla and was motivated to use him.
Assist-Sentinel, Its assist and Dorms teleporting should make a tough tactic.
Anchor-Firebrand, lvl 3 xfactor, shiny body and helper nuff said. Also if I start it early drones as well.
