I run quite a few teams, but currently i am having trouble for finding synergy with this team: Chris(combination punch), Thor(Mighty Smash), Wesker(Jaguar Kick)
can anyone give me some tips to improve their synergy(I will not change assist)
Hey guys, right now iām running a crimson viper/zero/dante team, but iām having difficulties choosing between zero, trish, or vergil. Zero is the second best character in the game imo and no one can argue that he isnāt great, but he doesnāt bring a good assist to the table, although he works really well with my dante assist. Trish has good mobility and keep away with her traps, but i canāt capitalize on her peekaboo assist because her low voltage assist can be used for extending Viperās combos, and it wouldnāt be that useful anyways since I play a rush down Viper, but Trish also has a godlike unblockable setup with Viperās focus attack. Finally Vergil, also one of the best characters in the game imo, has great damage, but not as good as zero, and also brings the best assist for my team out of the three, though he arguably has the least mobility out of the three and the worst keep away out of the three. So excluding execution difficulties, who do you guys think would be the best character for my team? Thanks for any advice!
so last night I was working on a Frank team and hereās what I discovered. It is likely something people are aware of in some capacity but I donāt know how its been utilized.
Iāve placed Frank on anchor, Wesker on point and Vergil second. the strategy is to have shopping card assist for setups with Wesker then perform a simple combo that looks like (ground magic series, super j magic series, samurai edge otg into rapid slash assist into launcher, air magic series into aerial exchange to Frank)
from there you do 3 light tools o survival loops into flying screen, camera into hyper, then DHC into Vergilās power up, raw tag back to Frank for one more camera and maybe another hyper.
this gets Frank to lvl 4 with 2 bars, no big deal. the interesting thing is that because I use Vergil assist in the Wesker portion of the combo, Frank (in anchor position) comes out for the exchange instead of Vergil. this way I can level him up effectively with my point and if things go wrong and Wesker dies with Frank still lvl 1 I have Vergil combos that can consistently level him without risking an exchange. If things go well the order is left at Frank Vergil Wesker which is great.
I chose Wesker because the timing on his relauch gives me just the right amount of time to allow an exchange after the assist. Vergil is there because heās got a power up super to help level Frank and because he can convert a bnb info Frank levels too. both of these characters love the cart too.
my biggest problem is converting the rapid slash assist into a relaunch. this can get dicey online. Iād rather use judgement cut but in the corner it fails to hit a lot of characters after the otg. any suggestions for a better way to create a relaunch using a Vergil assist?
I would be most willing to change out Wesker for the reason stated above. needs to be someone who can relaunch after a Vergil assist and become a decent anchor.

Let me get this straight your running a C.viper/???/ Dante team. For your 2nd character(???) on your team you want either Vergil/Trish/Zero
Reasons you want these characters are:
- zero is because he is a good point character.
- Trish works well with C.viper.
- Vergil has good assists.
I have all the facts down right?
Anyways i think your team should be C.vipes, Trish, Dante.
The reason i say this team is that you already have found synergy between c.viper and trish.
Reasons i choose trish over your other two candidatesā¦
i choose trish over vergil because for one Vergil is a meter eating monster, and since you already have c.viper(Female Meter Eating Monster) i would not suggest putting those two characters on the same team.
I choose Trish over Zero because I assumed that your point character is C.viper, and there is no point in having two point characters on the same team.
P.S. What is this unblockable setup with trish, and cviper?
Can anyone give me some strategies with my team Hagg/ Mag/ Wesker.
A while back, I posted on this thread about using a team based upon Shuma, and now I have revised it. My team as of now is Spencer/Spider-Man/Shuma. I found that Spidey and Shuma have great synergy with Shumaās OTG Mystic Ray assist.On Spencer I have his H. Shot, and I currently am using Web Ball as Spideyās assist.
Is this a good team? I like to lead in with my powerhouse Spencer to do some good damage with his amazing reach. I know some long combos and crazy stuff with Shuma, so I like to keep him in the back to make sure heās safe. Spidey is a character Iāve just started to learn, but he seems like a character I can really enjoy and use well with the help of Spencer and Shuma.
Good point/mid char for Dark Skrull? Iāve played around with Skrull for a while now and really enojy having him last. Iāve tried Firebrand/Frank Wolv/Frank, but not much outside of a leveling Frank setup. Would rather not use Doom/Vergil/Zero if you know what I mean. Thanks for suggestions!
I think youāre probably right, besides just the unblockable setup, trish and viper both work really well off each otherās assists. Anyways the unblockable setup is after a hard knockdown in the corner, tri-jump back and use the round harvest super, afterwards immediately tag in Viper, wave dash once and start charging focus attack, and then you have to time the trish low voltage assist in order to keep them in blockstun for just a little while longer after the super ends in order to finish charging your focus attack.
It requires some intense placement and speed after the hard knockdown and some pretty specific timing of the assist, but with practice it is definitely do-able consistently, and as I said before is quite godlike considering you can go into a full combo after the crumple with Viper which as Iām sure most know is insanely damaging.
If you want to see a video on how to do it, you can just go on youtube and search āumvc3 trish and c. viper unblockable set-upā shout outs to Rockstar I think his username is, for making the video, and he also has some pretty great combo vids for both Trish and Viper and even some combo vids showing off their amazing synergy besides with just the unblockable.
That is a pretty cool set-up, and i will give my regards to Rockstar =D. My friend say that you can escape that set-up by doing a proper cross over counter, but what you said earlier still proves itās unblockable just not unescapable i guess i will need to test it in the lab. Iāve been running either Hulk(AA GC)/Dorm(Dark Hole)/Skrull(Stone Smite) or Thor(Mighty Smash)/Dorm(DH)/Skrull(SS),
and I believe those teams are optimal order wise, and pretty good assist wise. Iāve also gotten a lot of reverse OCVs with XF3 Skrull,
but thatās a different storyā¦
Is there anything I can do to make the best of those teams, a la call assists, w/e.
Any suggestions?

So Iāve been working on an amaterasu team for quite sometime now and Im settling on spencer/ammy/hawkeye. How do yāall feel about that? I think the teams pretty solid, I mean the spencer/hawkeye shell is as good as any, and when you toss in the added bonus of ammyās hypers allowing for free bionic arms and the THC synergy between spencer and ammy I think its a solid team. My one worry though is the lack of damage on the team, other than spencer ammy and hawkeye both max out at about 700k - 900k depending on if lvl 3ās are utilized. I realize damage isnāt everything and both characters make up for their lack of damage in other ways but I still wonder. Plus the team isnāt finalized yet(still practicing BnBās) so I havenāt tested it out against a competent opponent yet.
Iām thinking to put storm on point with whirlwind assist, doom on second with hidden missiles, and im not sure about the 3rd slot.
Why not put Spidey on point? Parkerās got some really wonky combos for Air to Air, and the timing seems to vary depending on when in the jump arc you make contact. Spencerās grapple would bring them right down to Spider-Manās best avenue of approach; Air to Ground. Are you using Web Ball in your Spencer BnB? Spideyās assists are pretty miserable, but Web Swing seems to be the most reliable, if only as a combo extender.
Regarding Shuma⦠Man, I donāt even know. I used him for a while in Vanilla for crazy Web Throw combos, but nowadays Spider-Man doesnāt need that OTG anymore and there are better beams out there to guard an approach. His lvl 3 is always fun, but how are you getting in on people and opening them up?

im new to the game aswell and i guess my question is how would you ghost rider players think this team would work out? its the final team i decided to start learning there also my favorite characters in the game. ghost rider(chain of rebuttal), dante(jam session), felicia(rolling buckler). Would this be an ideal order and assists for this team? should i bother switching ghost rider out at all, is his assist that important if hes always on point?
If i should tag ghost rider out which is the best assist for him with this team. I noticed hellfire can also be used during a block string to hold them in block stun for more mixups is that just not a good use for it? or does it just not work very well? does it come out to slow? i noticed it can beat out some projectiles too and we all know it otgs. Are the other assists just a lot better or more useful then it?
When i went about picking character order i thought ghost rider had to be first because he seemed the most reliant on assists. So i picked dantes jam session as a kind of get away from me assist and felicias rolling buckler as more of an offensive assist to use with his jump s as an unblockable and from what ive tried it seems fairly easy to combo off both of those assists. Also felicias cross counter is a great get off me tool for ghost rider and is invincible i think and i dont know if u can combo off that aswell.
For dante and felicia i dont know which character is a better anchor but i feel dante benefits more from felicias assist then the other way around because of his IAD m/h with her low assists and ghost rider does too with his jumping s so i put her on anchor and from what ive read and seen she seems to be a good anchor.
Another bonus is that ghost riders (spirit of vengeance) super pushes the opponent to the corner which helps to dhc into dante(million dollars) and then felicias (dancing flash) and if you are to far from the corner with dante or ghost rider to dhc into felicias dancing flash you can still dhc into kittyās helper to start pressure when they recover.

Hi, as with a number of the people posting here I am fairly new to the fighting scene, moreso with UMVC3 I was wondering if I could get any input of my team idea of Vergil/Wesker/Akuma I would appreciate any advice and even replacements for some characters if the team synergy is not good, also I would like to know what assists would be good. Ya thanks to you too man:) but its not any worse than other round harvest setups because they can all be cross countered as well. There arenāt many cross counters that completely donāt get hit, as they would have to be completely invincible for the rest of the round harvest if they didnāt time it correctly, but they can still ruin the setup. either way, theyāre still likely to get hit and you can always cancel out of your focus attack into an ex seismo or whatever if the setup starts to fall apart when they cross counter and start to get hit to still set up for the combo. You might have to burn an extra meter for the ex seismo, but you made them burn the meter for the cross counter so its not all bad. Hope this helps(:
I run Akuma(Tatsu), Strange (EOA) and Hawkeye(Go Greyhound)
When hawkeye is on point and in the corner after air S call strange and backdash poison OTG. You can follow this with standing H tilted slightly upward, explosive arrow then gimlet. The standing H is at a really weird angle but is only in there for extra damage.
Or after air S, call strange, backdash poison arrow then perform standing H followed by a H trick freeze shot and follow up after the bounce.
The avocado eye gives far too much hitstun to follow with standing S, theyāll probably fall out of the combo in the air depending on what you did earlier in the combo.
