I know it doesn’t. But beyond having simples inputs, they can control space really well, and are that characters that don’t lack in options (both have projectiles[weak, but still], high range physicals, special command grabs, and good stats). So i don’t see why you can’t outplay someone with them. Also, from what i see in your words, characters that have evident/obvious power is what matters in the end. I think potential is more important, if it is hidden in a character, or if takes more training.
And i don’t see A LOT of potential in Shuma, really.
Yeah look, you obviously don’t know anything about this game. That’s cool, everyone needs to learn, just don’t go around giving advice. Tron control space well? To outplay someone with Tron they’d need to be a complete amateur with their fight stick up their ass. Shuma can easily pull 1 mil damage meter neutral in the corner with assists, Shuma just has a fucked up neutral game, which is NO WHERE near as bad as Trons. Ghost Rider has a shit load of exploitable weaknesses. Please, read up on this stuff before you give people advice.

I don’t play Strange but it is very common knowledge that he is a character that requires a team to be built around him. He can’t do much alone outside of random SoV and EoA > Teleport which no one worth a damn in this game will keep getting hit by. It’s extremely obvious what he’s going to do when the only thing occupying you is Strange himself. It’s a lot harder to do shit to him when there’s stuff all over the place like Hidden Missiles.
Good mobility? All he has is a teleport. A good teleport, but it’s the only “good” thing about his mobility. He can’t airdash, he can’t wavedash, he’s slow as fuck and can’t take being rushed down at all in this game. What are you gonna do if Strange is by himself against a Wesker anchor? A character that’s good by themselves need to be able to fight every other good anchor and then some. I can think of like 10 characters that would open up Strange for free if he was by himself trying to pull off a comeback.

I know I’ve helped a few people on here, but I think I myself needs help. I can’t wrap my brain around a team that’ll work with Iron Fist and it’s driving me nuts.
I love the character, really do. By far my favorite hero of all time, yada yada. Every team I’ve built with him though seems to lack pressure or zoning or something. I can never seem to get it right.
Right now I’m sitting on IF/Ryu (Hurricane kick)/Hawkeye (Trip arrow) but to be honest, I don’t like the team at all. I think IF benefits way to much off of a beam assist, but anything that picks a character up off the ground is useless to him.

=/ Well, after practicing, my team turned into Nemesis being a battery/punching bag with Doom and Dorm. The Biohazard Assault -> Sphere Flame DHC looks cool and is a pretty neat follow up. Clothesline Rocket adds a wallbounce to the end of a Doom combo for the lulz. Plasma Beam is actually turning out to be a good help to Nemesis, since it’s either block and risk a Tentacle Slam grab, a “quit trying to outzone me” boost, or a mix-up with Dormammu. Clothesline Rocket also helps extend midscreen Dorm combos (for those DHC shenanigans). But thanks for trying, guys.
Actually, a few days ago I was messing around with a team of Iron Fist/Haggar/Spencer. Spencer is a pretty good assist for both of them, as Wire Grapple diagonal can help Haggar OTG or reset, and it’s just kinda funny to make Iron Fist crumple state a character twice in one combo.
Suddenly posting for once because I need this. My team building process has been long and grueling and is still going. Started as Vergil/Strider/Nova. Dropped Strider due to his HP and my lack of skill. I feel unsafe with Nova although many use him. Vergil has been a constant in my teams for obvious reasons.
Anyways on to my main thing.
My current team is Dante(Jamsession)/Doctor Strange(DaggersofD)/Vergil(Rapid Slash)
Dante takes the point and I start my going Air Play, Dagger Assist, Hysteria-Repeat. As a huge Keep away Chip game. I know a lot of beam supers could easily hurt this and Strange, plus teleports and such. Depending on situation, during Million Dollars, I’ll DHC into Spell of V for a KO. Then switch characters or keep on situation. Vergil is oddly my anchor and I just feel so unsafe teleporting even in XF3. I really want to keep Strange, I love his play style.
I’ve attempted to mess with a couple characters of interest to find some mains. I tried Firebrand and I love his speed and mixups, I messed around with Zero, Because I played him in TvC but after seeing he was so different, I couldn’t adjust. I played Hawkeye and found him to be such a pest in XF3 with triple arrow and his LVL1 Omni-Speed hyper. I almost mained Strider for awhile but his HP crippled me. I also messed around with Doom and Magento for beams and didn’t like either.
So TLDR, any suggestions?
Ok guys quick question. On my secondary team i run currently have a variation of Walverine/akuma/Dorm Or Wolverine/Wesker/akuma. The issue im having is this i dont have a good projectile assist so its hard for me to catch some of the more mobile characters. ZERO!!! I was facing a zero/spencer/Sent team and the drones was eating me alive. Its hard enough to catch zero as it is and the drones dont make it any easier. So im thinking about dropping wesker or akuma looks more likely wesker, for a good beam assist like Doom or iron mans. I could use sentinel but i just dont like the character does anyone have any suggetions. and dont talk to me about snapping sent. Thank in advance fellas.
No they are not, Strider is by far the best option, both as anchor AND for his assist, Ghost Rider doesn’t factor in anywhere, he’s a horrible anchor as he has huge weaknesses in his neutral he needs covered with assists and as an assist he’s not brilliant.
Your right on Ghost Rider…But still I felt he had potential in this team.
Dante is superior in this team because of Jam Session.
If you’re running Nemesis/Dorm Jam Session doesn’t even compare to Vajra, especially because Dorm has a lockdown assist. Dante also has a harder time OCVing as an anchor than Strider.
Do you have any fix for my team then?

I think your team would benefit more from a strong multi-hit projectile assist over Vergil. I know you have Strange to help Dante, but I wouldn’t recommend it since Strange also benefits from a projectile assist. Depending on how good you are with Strange, I recommend an anchor who’s strong without XFactor because Strange does so much better with XFactor than without (Throws into kill, SOV into kill, Two-for-one SOV XFactor SOV). I would say Doom Missiles, but you said you dislike him. Other good options would be Sent Drones being the best (since they come from behind so they can hit teleporters), followed by Amaterasu Cold Star, Iron Man Unibeam, Taskmaster Horizontal Arrows, etc (in no particular order).
I can’t comment too much on Dante since I don’t play him. Just learn the huge meter building combos since Strange loves his meter.
I’d like to keep Vergil on the team, but who would best suit him with…? So far, I have been trying out Vergil/Ammy/Hawkeye or Dorm. Any suggestions folks?

So Switch Vergil, with Say Doom or Iron man? I’d like to keep my Dante/Strange thing going.
If Strange isn’t anchoring, wouldn’t it be best to pick an assist that helps strange teleport in and impact palm? If the assist is flat out blocked, I couldn’t really Teleport in and hit safe. What benefits would I exactly get from a strong projectile
A strong projectile gives you time to set up projectiles with Strange or move to a better position. Sometimes you want to run away with Doctor Strange and a good projectile helps you do that.
So, the SSF4 Tier talk thread basically says all this stuff to you, and it displeased you enough to stop posting in that thread entirely.
