In response to the question posed by the title of this thread I have to say SEASON 7 IS ALIVE AND READY TO KICK ASS!
Is it too early to pronounce this season to be…METAL GEAR BAUER: SONS OF THE PATRIOTS?
We’ve had: “A Surveillance Camera?” - Episode 2, Ship attack scene
We’ve had: “GREY FOX!?!” - Episode 1, Tony back from the dead
We’ve had: “La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo” - Episode 3, Interrogation scene
We’ve got the Colonel and Otacon running support for Jack (Bill and Chloe)
Either way this season is unleashing the PSYCHO POWER on a level we haven’t seen for years!
Favorite moment so far: “This is going to hurt.” Car scene, I was out of my seat yelling “What the fuck! Jack is the craziest motherfucker alive!” As he was limping towards the van.

i have to say, this season could be shaping up to be pretty good. HOWEVER, i am kind of getting sick of all the corruption all over everywhere. this could get annoying. oh, and yet again, another lead that doesn’t trust jack. also, i know they put out a lot of false leads, but so far, some of the potential “inside” people are kind of obvious.
however, having the holy union of chloe, buchanan, tony and jack all together is nice.
^Yeah, its like I can’t trust anybody, everybody could be a fucking mole. Hell, ol’ boy’s driver could be a mole for all I know.
Besides that, I’m really enjoying this season so far. Jack is kicking ass, the new characters are actually pretty entertaining(female Bauer FTW!), the plotlines are flowing nicely, and I’m actually pretty interested in where the president’s son getting killed plot is going(even though its completely different from the one in the 24: Redemption movie).
So dd Bauer get a kill in that last episode? I like all this mole shenanigans. I gotta keep my hype down though because last season started off great too then died after the 5th hour. Chloe winning the techie battle was great. Jack jacking a car under gun fire pressure too good. And God’s Patriot Saints with Chloe, Bill, Tony, and Jack all on the same page now, unstoppable.
With S6, it blew up way to quick(litterally). I mean, after a nucleur explosion…where else do you go? Thats why I’m liking this season a lot so far. The plotlines are developing, there’s no “jump the shark” moments so far, and it constantly keeps me waiting for the next episode(unlike last year, where I was like “Oh yeah, 24 is on huh? Thats neat”).
Also, Jack hasn’t really killed anybody yet, although he got that guy he was using as a meatshield killed in hour 2.
to me, s6 just seemed so incomplete from the beginning. it seemd like it was ebing written by 12 year olds who don’t know how to pace anything. this season is being more patient, it isn’t letting too much out too quickly. let’s hope this keeps up.

I agree, a problem with the last two seasons were they were blowing their wads all in the first 8 hours and then throwing some random stuff at us like Jack’s family and convoluted political story lines.
But no Jack didn’t get the meat shield (Alan Tanner) killed in episode 2. He was the one Agent Red was interrogating in the hospital. But I do think Jack did shoot one of Tony’s guys on the boat so that counts as a kill. Other then that, I wouldn’t expect him to start racking up a body count until probably the episode after next because when Dubaku finds out that the guy that killed his brother is on their “team”, you know Jack and Tony are going to have to take Dubaku by force.
I have to concur with CALIBUR & AZRAEL about the “24” series. After season 4, the storyline became very uninteresting to me. I have to blame those lame-ass writers for seasons 5 & 6. Hopefully, since its been over a whole year since “24” was last seen on tv, the writers for the show came up with a very good plot.
The last “24” season’s plot was so convoluted, it was hard to keep up with who the bad guy really was that needed to be stopped. It went from Muslim terrorists to Russian smugglers. Then to a Chinese national threat. I was like “WTF!!”.
Seeing CTU now as a rogue operation is quite a good idea. And now that Tony Almeida is alive and kicking… just made it a bit more interesting. Problem is, I think he was caught just a bit too soon. The writers should have stretched it out a bit longer as to when Jack finally caught up with Tony, then got the low-down on what was really going on.
Maybe in the end, it might become a good season for “24” anyways.
I think they needed Tony right away to introduce Bill and Chloe right off the bat to get people a hard on for Season 7 fast and steady.

ok, i get why people hate on S6, but in my opinion, S5 was better than S4. i know that comment won’t make me wholely popular, but froma writing stand point s5 was much more solid. S4 was like the “die hard” season. every single disk of the dvd had a differnet threat they were after, with marwan behind it all. now, nothing will ever come close to the sheer epicness of s1 and s2, but overall, i always felt that when you dig into s5 more, you’ll find that it was actually a pretty well written season. s6, however, is one of the worst seasons of a tv show i’ve ever seen. it was almost as bad as season 3 of heroes…almost…

On another note, I have only seen S6 and parts of S5. I need to watch the first five seasons, but I’m dead fucking broke :sad:
