It was painful listening to TNT announcers talk with Clippers cock balls-deep down their throats. Good win, Phoenix! Jon Leuer is starting to look like a better option than Keef at this point.
Sure. I’m only saying he would’ve been a great insurance policy, a project the Kings could’ve continued to groom. I’d imagine that if Sacramento kept him beyond those first 2 seasons (oh, and had a competent front office), that he wouldn’t be a bad option to fill that position. I do like Boogie a lot better, though.
Whiteside had a ton of issues, there was no way Kings could keep that amount of headache on the same team at that time. Part of the reason Miami picked him up is because they basically told him, we aren’t putting up with your shit and will cut you at a moments notice.
Whiteside only turned into Whiteside in the last 2 seasons…dude must’ve turned on the hustle and work ethic after he saw shit was real and he could possibly wash out the LG…when the Grizz had him he was a raw project who had a bad attitude. I guess he matured
Rookie Norman Powell has been getting more minutes lately and people are already demanding he overtake Ross as the backup SG. The Ross hate has grown 10x since he got a 31 million contract extension. He was caught cussing out a fan on social media who commented on how he didn’t deserve the deal.
He is currently out with a thumb injury which happened just before the Knick game at home. Some speculate the injury was made up by the front office as a way of preventing fans from booing Ross. Others believe the injury happened because he was playing too much Xbox.
I just hope that when Ross returns he produces something because the Raps bench has been struggling and this drama doesn’t help.
I think Davis/Noel could have worked pretty well. Thing is with Davis, unlike other bigs he really doesn’t need space inside to even start operating, he can take it of the dribble, from the high spot, of the high screen and run a set, Noel offensively is pretty much neutered to the basket and he can’t really operate anywhere else. Defensively is where the pair would shine though. Noel can defend pretty well against any one in the league, it would allow Davis to operate on the weak side where he thrives to begin with. I honesty think you could put anyone with Davis and his skill set is so el fuego he can make it work.
Is he already the greatest Raptors second round pick of all time?
And before you answer, remember that PJ Tucker washed out with the Raptors and wandered Europe for a while like Dr. Strange before coming back as the Hustler Supreme with the Suns.
people were saying clips were looking like the second best team in the league leading into the warriors game.
really, the only thing stopping their success is themselves. and the clippers curse. thank god they are such a hate-able team, otherwise i’d feel bad that they keep stumbling away from success.
I don’t see it, I do agree people said that but I just do not see it. I will say it again DeAndre is not a max contract player and he is an overrated defensive player as has been shown several times. Reddick is injury prone lately, Pierce is in his last years and doesn’t have the leisure he had in DC where he literally just sat in a corner and shot 3s. Crawford is throwing up bricks like he always does and Lance Stephenson is giving them nothing. Doc’s son is the only sub playing kind of okay.
He’s got a ton of athleticism and is hungry for minutes. He looked good last game, but then again it was the 76ers that he played against. We’ll see. If he shows that he’s confident in his jumper and can hit some shots around the arc, he can be quite the contributor in the future.
i have my own theories as to why clippers are going to be in games closer than they should be through out the year, and its in line with what geo is talking about… its heavily dependent on doc’s old school coaching.
doc’s m.o. is very old school: the clippers tend to play a game normally for a quarter or so, and find out a teams weak spot. and then abuse it over and over and over.
but their abuse doesn’t tie into their actual system. they aren’t running these exploits in a system that is a part of their overall offense… they’ll find the 1-4, 1-5, 2-3 pnr, 4-5 back screen pnr and say “fuck a scheme, we will just do this and if it doesn’t work, someone’s gotta jack up a hero shot”. once their counter gets blown up, they will just put up subpar numbers because a player is required to make something happen out of a broken play every time.
the league is changing in ways where hero ball is not only inefficient, its also the shots the defense wants. they need an offense that is capable of attacking these mismatches, but if there’s an adjustment, the offense just doesn’t die. unfortunately, i don’t think that doc and his team have that in them. cp3 is getting older and more beat up. jamal has burned everyone’s last straw. pierce isn’t even playing in clutch moments, nor is dictating any offense (why did they even get him at this point?) no one else can really create offense for themselves, much less other players.
they are a really good team. but they will lose games because they are expecting individual skill to get baskets on steps 1 or 2 for a majority of the game. there are no plans for steps 3-10.
Yeah, but the problem is Rivers has always been overrated. He got unjust praise in Boston. He never did anything in Orlando. He’s not doing anything with the Clippers besides historic breakdowns in the playoffs. The Clippers are now 5-4 after starting 4-0, and people aren’t pointing the finger where it should be pointed.
