The gift-shop area is accounted for already. btw all those interested in side games don’t have to worry about bringing a CRT TV, just a system/game. The main problem is floorspace. Harmon, Fugee and I will try to figure out how to accommodate as much side stuff as possible. We already have 20 stations accounted for the main game of the day (MvC3/SSF4) so we’ll try to do the best we can for everyone!
Also if you hash us on FB or Twitter, please use #SBVI – that matches with “6” and “Velocity” (although we’ve officially away with numbers in the event name since SB:R last year)
I think we’ve worked out a decent schedule for MvC3 teams and side games. GG and/or BB can run Sunday morning – already have volunteers to organize GG so that’s great! Anyone posting on other sites about side games, please remember that everyone attending SBVI MUST pre-register because the event WILL sell out. They can just come as spectators and then pay in person for their game to that side games’ TO. We’re happy to promote side games on our site/social media/SRK OP.
So what’s going on in karaoke rooms on Saturday or Friday? Can we do casuals there or is something else happening or are they just sitting empty or what?
Hopefully the site will still be up on time tomorrow night possibly. Also got in touch with more people today that will really add a lot to our presentation.
This will probably be a bit of a long shot, but…anyone that’s staying at the Red Roof in need of one more person? Seems all the rooms are booked, and it’s still damn expensive to room alone…
EDIT: Even the 2nd option (University Plaza) would be fine.
So Guilty Gear can run Friday evening after 3rd Strike, like around 7 pm. I’ve talked to Noel and he is going to get MvC3 teams in, which can start right when pools are over around 10 pm Friday night.
Also, if anyone wants to do a SF4 Team Tourney and not watch the Sunday events/tournaments, you can run one then, we’ll have the stations available.
Be aware that SB is not responsible for how unofficial tournaments run and they will not be streamed because our stream schedule is on lock to make sure the weekend doesn’t get out of control.
At this point Sunday morning is the best time to run side stuff, for those interested in doing so, because we’ll have a few dozen stations unclaimed (for now). I really was happy at EVO that they didn’t pack up the CRTs or lock down the power, so the few people who weren’t interested in the on-state stuff could play in the back, so we’re doing our best to do the same for you.
Also, UMK3 date for console confirmed – Aug. 31, so very glad that will be out soon and I’m sure the MK crew will be organizing a great side tourney!
so any word on how big or snazzy the University Plaza rooms are?.. if they’re bigger or better than the RedRoof i might switch my res… just to accomodate … Money Matches ladies and gentlemen
