Y’know I haven’t read this whole thread and I haven’t had time to go through the tl’dr OP with the original correspondence, but has anyone stopped to realize the super-awesome irony of the situation?

While this guy was apparently a dick and got fired because of it he’s actually probably done more good for the original company than he could have if he had’ve handled the situation properly. He gets fired for bad PR, but with this story spreading through the internet like wildfire the Avenger Controller (hell I didn’t know what it was until clicking on this thread) has probably gotten a huge amount of publicity.

He does actually mention this in his email. The irony is that he got fired and won’t be paid for all his hard work

This is a case where it doesn’t matter if the pub is negative or not. Before this I had no idea what an Avenger Controller was. Now I do. Unfortunately I have no interest in them, but chances are there are some people out there that will catch wind of the product because of this, and word of mouth could spread from there. Hell if I had a circle of friends whom I played videogames with this could even come up in conversation. “Hey did you see that wacky controller add-on for 360?” This type of publicity is nothing but good for them.

not always necessary. i’ve said this before, i’ll say it again: gamers (not all, but most of them) are immature spineless dorks. companies in the gaming industry get away with a lot of bullshit and gamers just take it. hell, look on this site. i remember in 08 when Planet Zero first got outed for screwing those dudes over SBO tickets and posters were like “yo that’s fucked up and i hate Planet Zero. i’m still gonna go over there when they get the SF4 arcade machine though. i have to play it.”

Even now people still go to that place and are always, always getting screwed over, even today. I remember the owner going on saying how he’ll refun Banana Ken’s plane ticket for the issues that happened this year at SBO. Still nothing…
