Edit: Looking over the video, he loses his evidence after hitting level 3, so maybe you’re right about needing evidence. But maybe you don’t need to be in raoh or even fancy mode yet, maybe you can be in basic and still do it as long as you have all the evidence and just haven’t inputted fancy mode yet? Again, just guessing.

Thinking about Lawyer/???/Doom-missiles where ??? is another character with an annoying assist and good point play. If it’s true about paper smack being invincible, then the way I might end up playing him is like, set up missiles+maya to find evidence, DHC into 2nd char as soon as I get the evidence I need, and then play that 2nd character with paper smack + Doom missiles backing me up. And Doom is even better in this game for some reason, so having him on anchor might be rad. Wright sounds like the kind of character you either want on point with backups or as an anchor, not really sure if he’ll do well in the second spot.
I dunno, progressive stances are always going to be a disadvantage, and his evidence thing is gonna get raped by teleporters who already look to be the new black.
If it takes any work at all to get to his better stances he’s gonna be bad.
On the other hand if its really easy to get to fancier stance, he’s gonna be pretty damn good.
Edit: I doubt the move will have much invincible at all (see: rapid slash which was claimed to have invince but doesn’t seem to and Tron/Hagger invincibility nerfs). It seems to be something that Capcom specifically doesn’t want.
I’m still wrapping my head around everything. Since my two main teams are Zero and Viper focused respectively, I’ve been constantly thinking how he might fit with them.
Seems almost required to run him point. You need assist coverage to get your evidence up, and you don’t wanna START powering up when you’re fighting their anchor under XF3.
Yeah the nerfs to Tron/Haggar make it seem like they don’t want super good assists, but then I hear this paper smack is invincible? Just gonna have to wait to find out for sure I guess.
