Obama Wants Mandatory Voting

You admit that it does exist yet want to do nothing about it? How does that make sense?
South Carolina reported that several people that were deceased somehow found a way to vote.

Why would some of the most important elections have such glaring flaws in them? States don’t even bother checking drivers licenses or anything. So I could literally go to 20 local voting places and vote 20 times. All anyone needs is the name of someone whose supposed to vote at that location. Last election I overheard one of the voters explaining that they had their names in 2 different locations. So if they wanted to they could go to both places and vote twice.
But that’s fine I suppose right? After all only 30% of voters turn out.

“…North Carolina’s check found 765 registered North Carolina voters who appear to match registered voters in other states on their first names, last names, dates of birth and the final four digits of their Social Security numbers. Those voters appear to have voted in North Carolina in 2012 and also voted in another state in 2012.” How is that not a problem?

I guess this isn’t a problem either
"…The crosscheck also found 35,570 voters in North Carolina who voted in 2012 whose first names, last names and dates of birth match those of voters who voted in other states in 2012, but whose Social Security numbers were not matched." Key thing is that they were able to cast their vote. So they got away with it. But who cares right?

Yet all of this seems hypercritical when you consider Obama’s voting record when he was in congress.
http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/11/02/obama.missed.votes/

He’s should be one of the last people to complain about people not voting.

Voter fraud constitutes 0.1 percent of all votes (somewhere in the order of 12000 votes out of around 12 million). Exactly zero of those were referred for prosecution last year. That is no reason for an overhaul of the system/no reason to spend money introducing voter ID.

I have a fucking drivers licence, social security card, student ID. I have 100 points of ID in my wallet. The fuck do I need a voter ID card for?

I wasn’t talking about the American system. I was talking about the the Australian system, which Obama wants to emulate.

Instead of voter I’d, just use state id where you swipe and register via the magnetic strip at the end of the card.

And this alienating shit, everybody has a smart phone, they have access to I ternet and can spare 20$

Regardless there is nothing mandatory voting will fix. And I’d be more worried about fraud and cheating committed by congressmen and senators than some stupid as shit white dude who is double voting because niggers.

Why aren’t we using Internet for voting? Surely we can make a bare bones site, issue individual logins, provide good security against possibly even DDoS.

As much as I love the Internet for anonymity, a second ‘not anonymous’ Internet could have its benefits. Especially for voting type situations.

Last thing I want is someone like Anonymous getting hold of voting records or DDOSing ballot websites.

Government would be lazy as fuck implementing something like that.

Forcing it would make it hard for Texas to scare away all those minorities in the name of voting fraud.

It’s not about laziness or hackers. You can setup a proper simple network, without anonymity, without anything but barebones infrastructure, and have it somewhat immune to hacking (look at global DNS servers for instance). Yes, the costs might be up there, but it’s an important part of society, it should be costly potentially.

If done well, and only allowing specific user’s to access it, it should be feasible.

Hell, nobody is financing proper network security, this would be a good cash dump towards ensuring sites and servers are safe from intruders and exploits and hacks.

It would be more helpful to have an easily accessible database of all candidates with their documented views on any subjects you want to know about. I think a lot of people don’t vote because they don’t know enough to make an informed decision.

Most people don’t vote because it really doesn’t matter. You’re going up against a conglomerate of business who are voting for the man who promises to give them more money. Then you run into weird territorial nonsense (like how in Canada, you don’t vote for your leader, you vote for who you want to represent your area, and they count the total number of areas who won an election from a certain party, and count all the party victories up, and the leader of the party with the most votes becomes leader of Canada, as if we’re living in the 1200’s).

And you better bet the government/NSA/CIA/GCHQ/whatever, has an accessible database of everything you do.

Lol at someone referencing voter fraud. It isn’t even a percent of all votes and that’s with a small pool of eligible voters actually going to the polls. Shut the fuck up about it and stop fear mongering. You aren’t Fox News.

Next thing you know Benghazi is going to be brought up.

Voting is mandatory in Brazil, the most corrupt country in the world.

Mandatory voting doesn’t solve shit. Don’t fall for this fallacy.

And yet Brazilians are engaged with their politics. Case in point, the country’s president trying to protect her asshole after it was discovered her company had bribed the Brazilian government nearly $800 million for contracts. You won’t find people who care about politics that much in America.

Damn, razor carried this thread with his stupid shit pretty far this time, and even gained some followers. To be expected i guess. Anyways

To address the above. Forcing people to vote will not make them more aware of the innerworkings of their shitty government. I feel thats super obvious to point out, so im not sure why you would post that. In a priveleged, entitled, and stupid nation, that is one of the dumbest western nations in the world, you think that they will all of a sudden leave their social media, booze guzzling, and bullshit behind, to focus more of their free time on the realities of their government local and federal, and its political leaders? Or will they just choose no vote, and go get high and drunk in celebration of getting off work? LOL

The idea that mandatory voting will fix a nation as corrupt as america, that obama has contributed to in its corruption either directly, or through his complacency, is laughable. The same country whose CIA unlawfully tested on its citizens. The same country deeply embeed in the hustling of drugs (heroin and cocaine), to the point that youre not sure who are the good guys and bad guys. The country that lovingly turns a blind eye to the instituionalized racism, and various industrial complexes that dictate many of this countries current issues. A country where a mayor was on record smoking crack, they saw the video, and then voted him back in. A country who thought it was cute that their texan born, idiotics presidents inability to ever articulate himself in the manner that a president should, or your average adult human being. A country who spies on them, and actively tries to crack the systems of ISP’s to install backdoors. A country involved in countless black book projects, that we’re just suppose to hope billions of dollars are spent well on shit that was likely the cause of some other false flag, or run of the mill bullshit we started. A country where the vice president had to blurt out obama is backing gay marriage, even though he didnt come out and say it, and then was kinda perturbed that he was aired out by biden, as if he didnt want to back it, which is no shocker considering his views on it, that his fans convientently ignore. The country whose FBI was involved IN FUCKING COINTELPRO, and no one even got in trouble for that shit. lol.

I mean, the list is almost neverending at this point.

You want a country, again, with some of the dumbest, entitled, spoiled pieces of shit in the history of mankind to be forced to vote, and on top of that, expect this will trigger enlightenment, when all the information they need to know about their government, its politicians, and its bullshit, is already out there for public consumption, but for some reason, they just arent getting to it, and they need mandatory voting to help nudge them. We’re talking about a country where many of those who vote now, vote just because. Ive been around adults with families, who said, i vote republican because my family does, and no care in the world to the actual politics of it all, and this was during bush. That is the true american voter, a stupid piece of shit, or a naive asshole who cannot wait to be lied to.

Obama pressing americans for mandatory voting, but what have you done to truly change this system. I mean, your terms are limited anyways, and youre already a multimillionaire. What do you have to lose by going out like a boss, and calling out every nook and crany of bullshit this country is involved in? Treason? If youre right, the people will back you. Death? Better men than him have died for less, and shit happens when youre truly trying to make change.

How about intiate some federal changes to public education, so people arent graduating high school with the intellectual equivalent of a 4th grader who still thinks birds deliver babies. **This country has always been about keeping its citizens heads in the fucking sand, and people are suppose to buy there is no angle to this goof ball telling you there should be mandatory voting? LOOOOOOOOL. ** This country thrives on the complacency, laziness, stupidty, and ignorance of its citizens. So your shit head president saying there should be mandatory voting, is nothing more than an angle for someone, if not himself.

Its not even worth the time to discuss the odious comparisons of other countries and their voting laws compared to ours. Pointing to a country and saying, look, they do it, so why dont we, is what simpletons do without further investigation, and doing some actual thinking/reading.

As stated a million times already, red flags should raise when someone would rather like to force you to vote, than actually address the reasons why america has basically turned its back on voting in general. That type of despair is created by a system that has beaten them to a pulp. A system that is not just their federal and state government, but the corporations they work for also. A system that has all but made it clear, that unless tens of millions of you come together, and get ready to go to war, we will do whatever the fuck we want.

Like someone stated earlier. Feel free voting for your canidate that will not get any financial backing like the repubs and democrats, who will constantly be edited and silenced in interviews, and will be nothing more than a faint whisper at the end of the day. **People in this country can barely check their fucking email accounts without having a mental breakdown about remembering too many passwords, let alone do self research for good local and federal politicians to vote for, that will HOPEFULLY keep their promises and interest in mind once they are voted in, because lets not act like people havent lied their way in, and then flip flopped before. **

***I dont have all the answers, maybe not even some of them, but i damn sure understand the simplistic stupidity of thinking mandatory voting will make massive change to a system whose rabit hole of bullshit basically extends into a whole new fucking universe.

I understand the sentiment of people wanting people to be more involved, wanting a better country, wanting better lives for us all, but mandatory voting. Cmon son.

**
American citizens are in the most abusive relationship ever, and are sooooooooo content with it. “But he/she only broke my nose once, and paid for the surgery. They wouldnt do it again, and again, and again, until i die, and then do it to generations after me”…“OUCH” (punched in the fucking nose again).**

Youre talking about america, where tens of thousands of people posted tent in opposition of wall streets bullshit. Where a million people marched in 1995 in the capital of the USA. The country where current protest and disgust are on tv almost every week. Where you cannot even watch the golden globes without someone making a political statement. You talking about that america, or another one, cause the list goes on?

I might have my criticisms about its citizens, but cmon son, america has stood tall for shit before, is now, and will in the future.

Your previous post is some tinfoil hat shit. Might I recommend one made of the very durable Reynolds Wrap?

That’d be nice if it wasn’t already for the fact that in North Carolina alone already had 3 times the voter fraud than your statistic.

Obama is already blowing money away anyway, sending billions to other countries when we’re trillions in debt. Blowing trillions away in entitlement programs year after year. If the government really wanted to they’d spend the billion or so to get voter ID’s up and running.

So you don’t know what a Voter Id would be for? You can’t even figure out something that obvious? Stupidity must be strong with you. The need for a voter id would already be higher than that of a student id which is useless.

Why do you not care about integrity? Especially when it comes to something so important. Do you just not have any to begin with? Or do you just not care if fraud prevents someone from taking office?

Entitlements are actually earned. You’re not given them for nothing. I don’t know how that name stuck but it doesn’t even properly reflect what those programs are.

Being in debt is sorta stupid talking point when speaking about a country’s solvency. Debt to people is not even then same when you’re taking about a nation. That’s not even mentioning that said nation is the de facto currency for other nations and globally circulated raw materials and goods.

So…0.3%? Which is still not even a single percent. Still negligible as fuck. Risk vs reward, learn it.

Because your country NEEDS to spend more money on pointless shit, right?

Are you that retarded that you cannot comprehend English? The point of a voter ID is to give voters a unique identifier to prove they are who they say they are at the polling booth. I can already do that with the information in my wallet, so I ask again, what the fuck do I need the voter ID for?

Show me a case from Australian electoral history where this has occurred. It hasn’t. Literally 99.9% of votes are non-fraudulent, and the exceptions that are are mostly honest mistakes.

Stop looking for a perfect system where one cannot exist.

It didn’t make a difference in the 2012 election. Though 2 states were only won by less than 41,000 votes. Those two states wouldn’t have been enough to swing the electoral college in anyone’s favor.

Go back to the 2000 election and there were 5 states that were won by less than 10,000 votes. 2 of those states were decided by less than 600 votes. You mean to tell me that 600 fraudulant votes couldn’t have swayed whether Al Gore or George Bush would have won?

Is that still negligible? For all of the George Bush hating going on since 2008, wouldn’t that have been something worth checking into. Maybe without the fraudulent votes Al Gore might have won. And this country may have been in a better place right now. Or maybe worse, who knows.

They’re gonna spend it on something anyway, might as well be for something that’ll make an actual difference.

Not everyone has a state ID or drivers license according to democrats. Nor do states go ahead and actually check your ID when you goto the polling booth. Democrats also don’t want to force people to get a state id or drivers license. So lets do this again, why not have a voter id card? Or make it a law to have to have some sort of state id or drivers license. Take your pick.

Why not make a system as perfect as possible? Flaws are bound to happen, but its pure negligence to simply ignore the simple improvements that could be made unto the current system.

There are bound to be other elections besides the 2000 that could have been swayed by fraudulent voting practices. Why not take steps to ensure that it doesn’t happen again?

Obama wants to fine people who don’t vote, why not fine people who don’t have a state ID or drivers license to use as a voter id?
