Im trying to get a headcount to get an idea of where the tourny will go.
I was going to start like 6:30 - 7 ish. But if you’ll be there by 7:30 I can hold off since ST is fast and it’ll give people more casual time.

As a devoted friend of Alex Strife, and due to some difficulties hard to explain, I’ve been asked to be a substitute for the Friday Bi weeklies @ Web2Zone. I also gave him the ideas as to whether or not to include SNK games in the mix so people can play different games while the tournaments are going on for casual/ side tournament play, OR include them as seperate RANBATS to make things interesting. Any ideas from anyone would be appreciated as well as people who wouldn’t hurt in taking their time in making tournaments with me- Web Staff included.
Hopefully, should it go well I would love it to turn weeklies to prepare those who are heading to EVO Las Vegas, or would like to experience a tournament-like environment with good competition and old/new faces in Web2zone.
Until then, it shall stay BI WEEKLY UNTIL NOTICED OTHERWISE
Of course, should anyone have any ideas suggesting any tournaments for this upcoming Friday, I’ll be more than welcome to help anyway I can (brackets, entree fees, technical info, etc.)
As Usual, I urge people, their friends, relatives, people of all levels- both professional and casual, to come Friday @ around 6:30ish in W2Z for some casual/practice play as the tournaments will start 7:30 SHARP. No exceptions.

Continuing the regular structure, it can be weekly if people suggest it. Until then it will be Bi-Weekly until the end of December where, if lucky enough, we can have a HUGE Ranbat finale with a Round Robin Kansai-like tournament for the top 3/4 to earn a good pot.

Format: Play Station 2
- Best of 3 matches, Double Elimination matches, Finals are Best of 5
- Winner keeps character as loser opts for both character and stage respectively.
- Any soft resets will result in a disqualification of ONE match. NO EXCUSES.

Hey wait a second, last Friday was supposed to be the Ranbat.
I can’t afford to go two weeks in a row.
It was supposed to happen last week, but due to the lack of people it didn’t happen.
I was surprised that the turnout was surprisingly small.
Two weeks ago it was me and a pad player in 3S while we held it down vs Smash and random people that wanted to play us.
If you can’t make it up this week, make it up next time or let everyone know that this Friday’s a Ranbat.
Don’t worry, it’s not the end of the world if you miss a week. I’ve missed 2 and look how much I have to catch up…

I’m new to this forum and the larger fighting game community (tho not fighting games, been playing them since SFII and Fatal Fury). Anyway this thing looks interesting, for the longest time i thought i was one of like, 3 people in NY that still liked 2D fighters (not hating on the 3D stuff cuz i likes to get my tekken on every now and again. 2D fighters will always have a special place for me tho). Anyway I was wondering…
I see people clearly like 3rd strike, CVS2 and MVC2, but what about some of the other games? What about Mealty Blood, GG Accent Core or KOFXI? Do these get regular rotation here? If so what kind (i.e. how often do people actually bring and play them)?
I would def be down to check this out if it’s more then just the major fighters getting rotation.
I don’t know about KOF, from what I can tell everyone seems to hate that game, but the others you mentioned are all played pretty regularly. I wouldn’t suggest coming on a Friday if you want to play those, come on the next Slammin’ Saturday Night, which if I remember correctly is the 14th of this month.
Also I won’t be able to make the ranbat this Friday, which sucks because first place gets into Slammin’ Saturday Night for free (or so I’ve been told) and I’m completely broke at the moment.
Let me retort. As an upcoming high profile SNK player, KoF isn’t hated. It’s misunderstood. It takes time and skill to actually play and master the game. Sure 3S does and CvS2 does, but not as much as KOF. I am no where near my full potential in KOF and I have been at the game since Fatal Fury 2. KOF will make a rebound, whether gamers like it or not.

Dude, not to worry…And for those that would like SNK games as part of the flow in Fridays, feel free to ask and I would certainly try to make a tournament for it.
Heck, bring Team SNK or whoever you know this Friday to start things off. Don’t matter who it is- JUST BRING THEM!

we can also just use roms and usb converters. It plays perfectly on mame.
And none of that wake up throw BS. (the one thing i really hate about 3S)
yeah but we dont know what kind of computer w2z has or if we can play on it. confirm with alex. and I dont have an USB converter…I did order one for GGPO but I dunno if I will have it by friday.
w2z will DEFINITELY NOT allow people to upload roms and emus on their comps. someone will have to bring their own.
