First of all I am so sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.
I am a pad player and I use my PS3 controller. When I was watching NCR2015 I noticed that NuckleDu uses a PS3 controller and some kind of converter. What I want to know is:
What it is
How much is it
Where can I get it
Is it legal in all tournaments
I make it real easy for you, NO.
Just NO.
Most Tournaments bans the Sony PlayStation Dual Shock 3 anyways.
The converters that work for Xbox One/PS4 are banned, don’t even worry what they are.
NCR was using EVO2015 rules so the PS3 pad was banned. Are you sure that NuckleDu wasn’t using a PS2 pad with converter?
I thought NuckleDu played on an Xbox pad? He might have switched but he used to.
Most people use Xtokki converters and PS2 pads. Luffy uses a PS1 launch controller (the pre-analog stick version).
Madcatz Fight Pad is decent if you really want to play on pad as well, they’re not expensive and Snake plays on one. They have a layout with six buttons on the face like the old Sega Saturn controllers (which were godlike)
I agree, I do think it is far more likely that NuckleDu was using a PS2 controller with converter.
@Bloodzure There is a WHOLE thread on Converters, Converter Compatibility Thread
If you look here you see converters are allowed
http://evo.shoryuken.com/f-a-q/
But if you read further in Additional Rules
http://evo.shoryuken.com/additional-rules/
You see the the Cronus and Titan One are banned.
On both pages, you see the Sony PlayStation Dual Shock 3 and Six Axis controllers are banned (as well as the wireless MS Xbox 360 controllers).
I think next time anyone ask about X players equipment I just going to flame them.
It is skills not gear than make you a winner. Michael Jordan made the shoes popular, the shoes didn’t make Michael Jordan, sorry Nike (stop selling $150+ shoes based on a retired athlete).
P.S. Don’t apologize, people really need to read the Intro thread, search there instead of creating new threads. It is part of the rules here.
pretty sure he uses a ps2 wired controller hooked up to a etokki converter. easy on the guy dark he’s 12 hours in…lol
I heard he uses a dummy controller to mask the fact that he communicates with the system via telepathy.

That was going easy
I heard his mental control as a negative lag input rate, the inputs register right before he even thinks of the move.
The quantum effect sends the inputs back in time to eliminate any latency.
I was asking because I am used to pad and I don’t really like sticks or not as efficient with them.
Alright thanks I will look into that
Okay thank you both so much this helped a lot. I might just buy a PS2 pad and an Etokki converter. Gotta get ready for CEO, will be my first real SF tournament!
Just to make sure you get the right one from Etokki, If you want to play PS3 with a PS2 pad, order an iNPiN etokki.com/Playstation2/iNPiN-PS2-to-PS3-Converter . If you want to play XBox360 with a PS2 pad, order an Xtokki360 etokki.com/Xtokki360.
I just went back and watched NuckleDu’s fight with Daigo at NCR on youtube. He was indeed using a PS2 controller with an Xtokki360.
Xtokki360 has been out of stock on eTokki for months now, the only shop I know that has them still is on eBay.
Ah okay I found some on eBay
It’s a bit late in the generation to be spending money on pad converters. Especially since EVO is going to be on PS4. Perhaps for smaller events like CEO is fine, but sooner than later, everyone is going to move on.
i read ceo is actually gonna be on ps4 as well. doa4 currently only game multiconsole that is ps4 standard
Hmm back when I looked at it, it said 360 unless SF comes out for PS4 before the event. Just checked and it now said PS4 so I guess it will be out? .-.
