Sorry, had to get GGXX #Reload in the arcade first! And I’m sure Friday crowds went down because our Marvel sticks sucked (through no fault of our own), but next week they’ll be fantastic. We’ll prolly have a tourney next month – but be prepared for weekend crowds again when we get Fighting Jam. You all know you’ll get into it.

We promised you something different and here it is!! This is how VS handles its tournaments in Street Fighter III: 3rd strike and Marvel vs Capcom 2.
All participants will be placed in a hat and seeded at random.
Tournaments will be held once a month.
The tournaments will be double elimination.
The semi-finals will be best 3 out of 5
The final match will be best 5 out of 7
The winner of the opening day tournament will be crowned the champion of its respective game.
Prize money are as follows; 3rd Strike- $200 MvC 2- $150
Champion is also guaranteed an additional $50 for coming back to defend his title at the next tournament against its winner and an additional $100 if he successfully defends it. (GUARANTEED $50 just for showing up and $150 for a title defense!)
The champion will continue to earn this money EVERY MONTH he comes back and defends his title until he is dethroned!
Champion also receives free game pass (can play whatever he wants for free!) and free concessions during his title reign.
Champion is required to defend his title against the winner of the monthly tournament in his respective game.
Winner of monthly tournament not only wins the tournament prize money but gets a chance to win $50 more by defeating the champion and winning the title. (Brings your total prize money up to $250!)
New champion will now receive ALL the perks that the previous champion had. (listed above)
This is just a small step in our quest to revolutionize competitive gaming. Rest assured there is more to come!

they double the charges for some reason but you get the money back after your credit card get verified or whatever
sorry kod, i was thinking you had your own custom stick already :P. Go ahead and buy/build your own, then and ask for a heavy spring, shit’s pretty damn cheap. When i made my current stick i paid like 20 for a red octane box, 35 for a pre-soldered psx pcb, and like 30 for the parts (comp stick not p360). the box and pcb are considerably cheaper if you do it yourself but i was fucking lazy and dreaded fist wasn’t selling sticks at that time. I’d say get a dreaded fist stick though, his shit is pretty solid from what i here.
p360s are cool and all, but i’ve yet to here about a micro switch going out within like more than a year, and when they do, they are pretty damn cheap (1 buck). I think p360s are more meant for arcades that actually lose money because of the wear their machines get. Thats just my opinion though, do what you want

To a business, the tournaments prizes (cash awards) are not as gratuitous as one would think. Rest assured guys that the tournament championship structure at VS is for REAL. Good prizes mean good competition. And competition is what our store is based on. (Thats why our store is named VERSUS
:badboy: ) Besides, tournaments aren’t our only revenue venue at our place. Trust me, we didn’t just throw this idea up in the air so we could just make it better than everyone else not thinking about the business end of it. We intend to be around for a LONG TIME and sound business practices and solid planning are a big part of that.
Just make sure all of you guys come on out to represent. Sounds like there is some tension building between New Orleans and Baton Rouge! I wonder will the first Versus champ be from either city?..
