Everyone, tomorrow’s the test day of the lan center place, from 3 to 10. I’ll probably be there sometime around 4. There’s also random Madden scrubs playing in a tournament for Saints tickets. Me, Chris, and random other people are coming by to play 3s and GGXX #Reload if any tvs are free, hopefully.
Hey Vinny do you still make sticks? I need to get a stick with P360s and i don’t really trust the MAS guys too much since all i ever hear about is them breaking and burning out dreamcast. I can pay for everything or whatever, since i’m ballin outta control (until i pay for a new windshield, getting my windows tinted, and school that is) at the moment.
I’m pretty sure the screen was so shaky because the fighting choreography wasn’t that great. They’d probably say it was something lame like “to make you feel like you were there” or some b.s. Solaris, thanks for the offer but i’ve got an 8-way stick. I just really need a perfect 360 stick. Not because I feel they’re better but I was really upset with how bad i played when i was in Chinatown and I know it was only because the controls were P360 which I’m not used to. Usually when I play against N.O. on home systems i have the same problems and it always takes me forever to get semi-adjusted to them. Texas uses P360s too and it takes me at least 2 days of playing on them to kinda get a feel for them. I’m just tired of playing so bad not because I suck, but because of having a tough time adjusting to the sticks. Now i’m not saying i’m the greatest or anything, but you can ask Lee and he’ll tell you i’m kinda decent at least.
If you want to learn how to play on p360s all you gotta do is put a tight spring into whatever arcade stick you already have :P. I have the same problem too, i can play on anything loose and/or japanese, but when i play on a p360 or a stick with a tight fucking spring then i have a hard time doing stuff like dashing, or quickly blocking from high to low. I don’t know why there isn’t just one universial spring tightness, but i guess thats what you gotta put up with since not everyone perfers the same thing. Although now that you mention it, i should probably learn how to play on a tight spring as well since i’m hoping to go to TS5
The beta testing of Dibbz’s Gaming Caf went over well indeed. I got a job already… I guess the early bird does get the worm! I’ll be organizing fighting game tournaments once the lan center offically opens up. I talked to the guy who owns it (Kevin Best) and he wants me to organize fighting game tournaments. They will be console based, but Stone and I are gonna start working on arcade sticks, so don’t complain guys. Of course the games are gonna be on the X-Box (GGXX#R on big HDTV screens =D~~~) wipes drool
Also, we (Stone and I) will start mass producing arcade sticks and sell them through Dibbz’s. If it goes over well, he’ll buy the parts for us, and then we’ll just make them. We were thinking $70-$75 after parts and labor, and they WILL be competition sticks too, so it will be worth the buy.
So finally, New Orleans will have a place to hold tournaments and not have to go to BR or somewhere else everytime. Since you guys missed the beta testing day, the Offical Grand Opening will be September 18 (Saturday). It’s gonna be open from 6AM-2AM on weekends and 6AM-10PM on weekdays, so I wanna see you jackasses there! And spread the propaganda too! The more people coming, the more popular the place becomes. That way tournaments will be big, and the pot will get larger. I’m think of charging $5 for the first tournament. Fair enough right?
where the fun arcade that’s between david and I-10 west used to be. I poked my head in right before they closed and the computers are damn nice :D.
So do we gotta wait till 3s comes out on xbox before the tournies will start or can we just hook up a ps2???
and duane sorry about not answering my phone friday, i had left it in my car while at a friends house :. Gimme a call this weekend, i’m dieing for some 3s.
Well, since PS2 3s is as close as we are going to get for now, (the only real difference found at the moment is a slight timing thing on one aegis reflector unblockable setup) ps2 version should be okay.
Dawan might be running the tournaments but the rest of us are probably going to give in input on certain things like what type of tournament formats and such.
hmm. anyone talk to nibor yet besides me? stone he said after a few weeks when school starts to settle down a bit he might be interested in coming down to baton rouge with you… in the meantime my ken pwns ben’s hugo mwahaha.
