Hey, whose for a 3rd strike tourney at sp sometime? Perhaps simultaneously or mayb the same day as the next MvC2 tourney? I just think that we oughta have some opportunity to maybe attract some of those random players that sometimes come through and play to boost the competition in SOMETHING. I know for a fact that there were a couple of people that were considering playing in the marvel tournament that showed up b4 everybody else got there that decided not to play b-cuz nobody was really there on time. Although it was obvious that we had a crap-tacular tournout neway that’s just typical of any B.R. tournament anyway…I dunno, I just think there were just as many people there that played 3s as there were that play Marvel, and quite honestly I think the competition would have been wayyyy better in that game, aside from Nick and that slime green ken :lol: Just a thought…but I think random people might actually showup for a 3rd strike tourney as opposed to marvel in which lots more people play the game, but are quite aware that they don’t have a chance in Perdition of not going 2 & out… again just a thought.

too many ppl are scared to play marvel because of the huge talent level dropoff, even thos players who are experience chicken out of tourneys.

i think the breakdown is something like:
mvc2= cortana mall spaceport
sc2= i think people play at the lsu union still
ggxx= peoples houses
3s= sometimes at spaceport

This is just my second semester up here, living in kirby right now. I quit going to the arcade because I only used to see people playing SC and MvC2 was broken.

I think if could actually happen I think that it would definitely be best on the same day as a more popular game tournament (MvC2 or SC2) I don’t really believe that anybody would show up for a 3rd strike tourney (besides pretty much the same people who came to the last marvel tourney) if it was the only thing going down. I’ve noticed that lots of people that play MvC2 & SC2 also play 3S, and I think if we could get something going during one of those tournies then there may actually be a decent amount of people willing to participate. I know it’s ancient history, but I believe 3 marvel tournaments ago Irv had the “random” 3S tourney, and there at least as many people willing (and actually did enter I might add) to enter as there were at the last not random marvel tourney despite the fact that it was a two dollar tourney…and 3rd place didn’t get anything…:mad:, but even that beat the heck outta free entry playin’ for tokens…All I’m really tryna say is we got the 3S machine again so we may as well try to actually get some organized enjoyment out of it yah? Oh, and the sticks were fine with me, I don’t think ne1 else really had ne problems either.

And yes Brydon, the dropoff in talent in marvel is rather steep…even tho lots of people who maybe have good potential just don’t care to become top tier whores for the sake of victory…not to mention are intimidated by the fact that the veterans have so much experience over them…If only people could not give a crap and just play for fun, without caring so much about winning or losing. Personally, it’s all about the fellowship. I’d probably never get to see the majority of y’all if it wasn’t for the tournaments, and if you never see anybody else play, gaming gets old really quick (at least competitive games neway). Also, you’ll never quite learn everything on your own with better people to introduce you to things you didn’t even know were possible. Um… when did I start rambling?:o Neways, Viva la Streetfighter!
