I was glued to he stream this weekend more than I was during Evo. Great event, guys!
I have a decent amount of matches that were never streamed recorded for people that want to see them, they are slowly uploaded to my page
This is my official wrap-up post in regards to the Canada Cup 2011
It’s been thrown around and mentioned a lot, but it cannot be over stated: Thank-you to all of the event volunteers.
The front desk staff, pool judges, floating judges, stream coordinators, security, translators - - EVERYONE. Thank you so, so much. Without your help it wouldn’t have happened.
To the persons who donated their gear to be used – without your setups there is no way we could have gotten through the pools… Thank-you. I will be going through and separating everything tonight for you guys to pick up throughout the rest of the week. If you need it dropped off just let me know.
I also would like to make a second thanks to the volunteers who strayed away from their “assigned duty” to help out with other matters.
Peter, I was supposed to be coordinating the players going on stream with you all weekend. It ended up not happening as I had to help with brackets as well as try to balance everything out elsewhere. I’m sorry for not sticking with you bro,-- but you took the bull by the horns and beasted through it with the help of other volunteers. Cheers guys, I really appreciate it.
Greg ß this dude. Is the best. I was basically his assistant all weekend… He was always on point, Always knew what to do and did the workload equivalent of 4 people with NO sleep and a BRUTAL cold/flu. I’m surprised he wasn’t wearing his grandpa’s pajamas and walking to the Sheraton uphill both ways.
Troy ß also, the best. Troy, you were the man. If anyone had a question, or needed something done, you were on it. Something that people should know is not only the amount of time and work you put in this weekend, but all the months and weeks you grinded before which brought it all together. You had way too much on your plate dude, and somehow managed to make it happen regardless. Next year we’ll make it easier for all of us.
Lapchi ß The boss. There is a reason we call you that, maaaan. No one can thank you enough. The amount of time, money and life force this dude pours into the Canadian scene and uniting the world is amazing. It’s truly an honor to work with you - - anyone and everyone should take a moment to really pay their respects to him. Thank-you Lapchi. You are the boss of the best.
Special super thanks to FA/DC – the heroes of the after party. You guys were so awesome.
Congratulations to all the Canadian players (especially local ones) who did so well in the tournaments. Canada is not free, even to the best in the world.
Jamie man… I’ve never been so pumped on Street Fighter then when you almost OCV’d that entire team. Get any e-mails yet bro? Maybe team MRN/MCZ wants the mask and claw?! Haha.
I LOVE YOU ALL – remember, just because I didn’t drop your name doesn’t mean I’m not thinking of you. Cheers to everyone, here’s to next year.
