so a lot of people have expressed interest in my stick case. it looks like the guy may be doing a second run of them if he gets enough people to pre-order.
I have a chimp board assembled and was going to look for NW people appraizles for who could do it & cost/time quotas.
Also I’m creating artwork for my stick and got a bottom te cover for the cammy art I’d like to do…I’m not very affluent in photoshop so I wanted to request someone who is good to do some magic to this photo. What I’m looking to do is use this image for the bottom but the problem is the mist at the bottom and since the picture isn’t wide enough for the size of the bottom I need that merged into a black background overall…below is links to the photo…
http://www.mediafire.com/?mtutjqqunky (If someone decides to do it this pdf is from a 600dp scanner and the file is around 44mb whichever photo you decide to use is up to the magic photoshop person but I think giving a higher res image would be good)
I could wire that up for you, Carlos. I’ve modded Francis’ SE with the ChImp he won at Bloody Knuckles and according to him, it runs like a champ on PS3.
I’ll PM you some price ranges in the morning. Fair warning with me modding your stick: I live in Bremerton…also known as Never Never Land, where I never never have a full day just to sit and mod sticks, so you’d have to be willing to be away from your stick for a week or so, two weeks max. I figure you’d be better off asking some of the peeps here who have more time available than I, but I do want to throw my name out there.
I can probably do the photoshop mess for you carlos, just pm me with specifics because your post is kinda confusing. Or just come to my session on monday and we’ll work it out.
Heavy D I am in MI until the 1st…If you have any time I just want that picture merged with an all black background…that’s it…I just suck at photoshop…I’m also pissed I’ll be missing a scrumbles…its been too long…
I don’t have solid prices for dual mods set. I think $50 for labor/parts(not including the board) is about average. I’ll work you a deal for a cammy/akuma lesson when you get back so say $30 and a two hour training session? if you’re down to hang out while I do the work you’re more then welcome to. otherwise I can turn around your stick in about a day.
Yeah man…I’m down for a training session…playing akuma means I had to learn all the ins and outs of sagat (I think that’s who you main right…I could have changed, either way I’m down) I would be more than happy to be around to watch the process if it didn’t bother you (even though I don’t really know much about it I’m interested by the stuff)…I have alot of free time now so whenever you’re down…I have just the assembled board and it didn’t come with screws to mount it (which ones do you need?) I can pick them up at a Lowes or Home Depot…I’m in MI until April 1st…As long as you are Federal Way or North I don’t think distance should be a problem…
Cool…I was going to buy a SSF4 TE but this seems soooo much simpler…plus I like the TE’s layout…and since I’m doing the top and bottom plexi art mod it will look good too
I have all the consumables required (PCB standoffs, hook up wire ect). does your ChImp have a USB jack on it? unless you are going to install a neutrik adapter (even if you are) I prefer to hard-wire the USB leads to the board.
Just curious: which kind of standoffs do you normally use? The ones for PC mobos I picked up from The Shack are one size must fit, and what I’m planning for my TE, the 10mm ones are too tall. shrug
I prefer to use use the screw down terminals on the Chimp/Cthulhu, as for barrier strips, in most (current) setups they are redundant, granted I haven’t done any sticks that use more then 2 PCBs. in fact I’ve only really worked on “modern” sticks (PS3/360) so everything is chain-able through a toodles board.

I user standard mobo standoffs (got mine from frys) in a TE I mount the boards in the lower left corner of the chassis accessible from the top panel. there is a TON of space if you go at it from the bottom panel. but I’m not sure what you are trying to stick in there.
