People have expressed interest that we should hold BB teams as the main event, while having singles as a not so main event. What this means is that teams would be dealt with more seriously while singles would be put on the back burner in terms of the order of things. Also, singles would not be streamed, but teams would be (unless for some odd reason we had time to stream both… doubt it).
If I know BigE well enough by now he’ll want to do what YOU guys want to do. He always holds the players first because he wants you to enjoy the weekend. I’m the same way, I’ll run whatever you guys want to run, as long as we have time. With that being said…
If we do teams first it will be 2v2. No exceptions… 3v3 gets too stupid with people either missing or too busy with another tournament. We’ll run teams first, then in the downtime between teams and after top8 streamed we’ll run singles.
If we do singles first… we’ll do everything the same way it was going to be in the first place: singles run first then teams (3v3) before/after top8, just like Summer Jam.
As far as entry fee goes, if teams were run first, I’d assume teams would be $20/team while singles would drop to $5/person.
What do you guys want run first: singles or teams?
My personal opinion on this is that although teams would help the balance issue (somewhat) with BB, teams tournaments always tend to be less hype in my personal experience. My vote would be to stay with singles first, keep every entry fee the same ($10 for singles) then run teams (either 2v2 or 3v3) as fast as possible to maybe stream top 4 teams or something.
We’re a little more then a month away from NEC so this might have come a little too late, but I’d rather hear your opinions first along with your vote.
If I don’t get enough feedback on this BB will remain in the priority of singles first, teams second.
